Introduction (warmer activity + teacher active engagement)

- Teacher will tell story of numbers that related to the last lesson and beginning for the new lesson for
example, they will use in this story the last concept with the new concept.

- Introduce the new vocabulary by show them example and explain what each part mean (I do, you
watch)

- Present example for students and through this example teacher clarify the difference between addition
sentence and multiplication sentence. (I do, you watch)

- Let the students to help by ask questions about the example to be easier for students to understand it.
(I do, you help)

- Answer the example by let one student to come and write the addition sentence and another student
for multiplication sentence. (you do I help)

- Put example for students to solve it step by step by ask several questions and help them. (you do I
help)

Remembering level:

Which operation equation will be use?

____________________________

Understanding level:

What is the operation mean?

Applying level:

Give example about multiplication sentence and addition sentence through the pictures?

Analyzing level:

What is the relation between addition and multiplication?

Independent Experience (small group activity 1) create multiplication poster (you do; I help)

- Model the activity for students by present it in the smart board and explain in each square what they
should do. Such as,

- In the middle of the paper they will have the multiplication operation.

12 min
- In the first square they will write the multiplication operation and in the second square they will write
the multiplication operation as repeated addition.

- In the third square students will create groups of pictures related to the multiplication operation for
example, 5 x 3 students will create 5 groups and in each group three pictures in addition, in the last
square students will write the product.

- Teacher will distribute the activity for each group then, work around the groups to help and engage
them.

Question:

What is the multiplication operation?

What is the repeated addition for the multiplication operation?

How many groups will be create for the multiplication operation? How many inside each group? Such as,
________ groups of _______

What is the product of the multiplication operation?

Independent Experience (individual activity 2) worksheet (you do, I watch)

- Teacher will model the three types of worksheets in the smart board.

- Teacher will solve one question for each worksheet.

- Teacher will distribute the worksheets following the students level’s.

- There are three types of worksheets follow the differentiation

- High level: they will have six multiplication operations to solve it and two problem solving questions
and they should answer it by write the multiplication operation then, solve it.

- Middle level: they will have three questions with pictures and through this picture they should write
multiplication sentences and addition sentences then, write the product. In addition, in one question
they will create groups of thinks then, write multiplication sentences and addition sentences after that,
write the product.

- Low level: they will have pictures for all question. in the first question they will have multiplication and
addition sentences so, they only will write the product but in the second question they will have the
addition sentences and they should write the multiplication sentence then, answer the question in
addition, the third question will be opposite and the last one they write both multiplication and
addition sentences.

Question:

High level:

what is the product of each multiplication sentence?

What is the multiplication operation of each problem solving?

What is the product?

Middle level:

what is the multiplication sentence of each example?

What is the addition sentence of each example?

What is the product?

Low level:

What is the multiplication sentence?

What is the addition sentence?

What is the product?

At the end of the lesson teacher will give each students blank paper then, present multiplication sentences and
let the students to write it as repeated addition in addition, present addition sentences and let the students to
5 min

write it as multiplication operation.
