Overview of the lesson: Lesson started with the teacher telling the students a story. She
continued with a concrete presentation on odd and even numbers using bananas. Students were
questioned on odd and even numbers. The lesson continued with the students working
cooperatively to complete their activity. The activities were creative and were at a high level of
blooms’ taxonomy. The activity using the dice in particular caught my attention. The students
were active and highly engaged.
It appears that routines have been established. The teacher was able to refocus students’
attention by raising a “Be Quiet” sign.
The students were given an opportunity to present their work with lots of encouragement from
their peers.
Today’s lesson was student-centered

Areas for development: Higher level thinking questions. Students could have analyze what
happen when two odd numbers are added? when two even numbers are added? When one odd
and one even numbers are added?
Add a visual component to the lesson’s presentation using the projector
