The course familiaises the students wih the design procedure and ‘oss mechanisms ofturbomachines and therby opens an a platform to ther core fei wih their area respective branch of study. sess COURSE OBJECTIVES AND EXPECTED OUTCOME Objectives ‘+ Toexpian tne mporance of analysis o fds in rest and in maton conservation equations ‘+ Toinaduce tne tecnnques for analyzing he fd related forces. momentum, powerand conservation equations, + Tointocuce the various efecis of uid properties, types of utomactires, sigicace and herpretaton of velooty tangles * Tointoduce te lass mecnanism concepts, causes, tacts and cotoling measures of ess mechanism in turbomachines, * Tointroduce the various analysis and design procedure of eects of geamecal ana dynamics properties | Outcome: Tne termina objectives ofthe course is that, on successful completion of teaching-earing and evaluation aches, a student would be able to | ioenty, appreciate and analyze the problems by applying the avanced tecnnolages of fuid mechanics in turborachines design and to proceed forthe development of the fuid mechanical systems. COURSE OUTCOMES (CO) ‘After taking this course students would be able to t Appreciate complexity of fid flow procedures that connected with fuid machines, working Principles of turbomachines. a | t t 1 Dasste fel ratoal peel irorecaheslostcerpocsare oltre arelf se ge | caressa gover chs oben | See ese eee eet ee isagicreei nore seeeee rH ae erent nee | [ COURSE ASSESSMENT METHODS | eo SE ico a Sines | eof Acerenet Week Date burton veweoge ae a . The students, who have more than 75 % atiendance and scored ‘more than 50 % marks (combined) in CT-1 and CT-2 willbe permitted to appear end examination | | 2. The students, who nave mare than 75 % attendance and scored less than (combine) 50 % marks in CT-1 and CT-2 wll be jpermited to appear end examinaton only afer the submission of ASSIGNMENT(S). The assignment (tutorial) sheet will be CGreulated to those students through the Class Representative 4. The students, wno have attendance of less than 75 % will not be permitted to appear end examination and they have to redo | the course 4, If any student is not able to attend any of the Continuous Assessments (CAS: 1 - 4) due to genuine reason, student is | permitted to attend the Compensation Assessment (CPA) with % weightage equal to maximum of the CAs. However, the | maximum of weightage among the assessments for which the student was absent willbe considered for computing marks for CA (This is not vad for students who nave attendance lag). At any case, CPA wll not be considered as an improvement | test 5. Students are expected to scare minimum 50 % of the maximum mark ofthe class in the CAs fo attend the end semester | examination in addition tothe attendance requirement 6 Every student is expected to score minimum 35 % ofthe total assessment (1, 2,3, 4, and 5) to pass the course, Otherwise the student would be declared fal and F grade wil be awarded | assessments (1, 2 and 6) will be informed wel in advance.
