Resident Pet Owners (or pet parents) rightly consider their Pets as family members but they have to
ensure that their Pets are not a source of nuisance to other Residents.
Examples of such nuisance are:
a. Pets who make noise continuously and unreasonably especially during night hours. Pet owners are
advised to make every effort to keep their Pets quiet particularly during night hours.
b. Pets whose unruly behaviour causes personal injury to others or damage of common building
property.
c. Pets who relieve themselves on walls or floors of common areas.
d. Pets who exhibit aggressive or other dangerous or potentially dangerous behaviour.
e. Pets who are unclean or infected or not vaccinated appropriately.
f. Pets who are not leashed or not under complete physical control of the Person who walks the pets
in common areas.

2. Resident Pet Owners must ensure that their Pets are healthy and clean. Adequate health care and
regular vaccinations need to be ensured by Pet Owners.

3. Pets shall not be kept, bred or used for any commercial purpose. Pet crèche within Dosti Imperia is
not encouraged.

4. Pets when unattended/ unleashed must be confined to the Resident Pet Owner’s residence only and
must not be allowed to roam free unattended in common areas.

5. In case the service of a dog walker is availed, entry must be made of the dog walker at Gate 4. Pet
owners are responsible for the actions taken by the dog walkers.

6. Pet Owners or other Care-Givers or dog walkers whom they entrust their Pets to, must clean up when
their Pet defecates as it is a basic courtesy to other Residents. Persons who walk Pets are responsible for
immediately cleaning up after their Pets and discarding securely bagged pet droppings. Hence they must
always carry cleaning material like paper bags or paper rolls. No Pet droppings should be left behind by
the persons who walk Pets. Other Residents and Security Guards in common areas who sight such
careless behavior are well within their rights to object and request them to clean up after their Pet.

7. Dust-bins will be provided at each parking level where the pet droppings (wrapped in paper) may be
disposed. Efforts will also be made to store paper at each parking level, which may be used in exigencies
for collecting pet droppings. This however does not absolve the responsibility of the pet owner from
making arrangements for appropriate disposal of pet droppings.

8. Pet Owners or other Care-Givers must leash Pets in common areas thereby assuring others of their
safety.

9. When accompanied with pets, if there are already people in the lift, the pet-owners shall not enter
the lift if anyone in the lift communicates a discomfort of the presence of the pet. Conversely, if the pet-
owner is already in the lift with the pet, it is at the discretion of other members whether or not to enter
the lift. It must be noted that if the pet is already in the lift, then members cannot ask the pet and pet
owner to step out.

10. If a pet owner (with a pet) and other members are waiting for the lift at a floor, priority shall be
given to whosoever was waiting for the lift first. Thereafter, Rule No. 9 shall be applicable.

11. Residents Pet Owners are advised to keep the vaccination and medical status of their pets updated
and readily accessible. A copy of the valid BMC certificate and updated vaccination report of the pet
must be submitted to the society office as and when called for.

12. In the event any injury is caused to a resident by the action of a pet (including scratching, licking,
biting etc.), all expenses incurred towards appropriate medical treatment shall be borne solely by the
pet owner.

13. Members shall not throw stones or any objects at pets, or tease them in any manner.

14. Dogs should not be fed any food by members without the express permission of the pet owner. Also,
feeding of stray dogs within the premises of our complex is not allowed.

15. Residents are responsible for the pets of their guests who visit their houses and such pets are also
subject to the aforesaid Guidelines as applicable to Resident Pets.

16. The members of the Managing Committee, the Society Manager or Security personnel who observe
a violation of any of these Guidelines shall restrain/ object to the defaulting Resident Pet Owner or Pet
Care Giver and discuss the infraction in a cordial fashion in an effort to secure voluntary compliance. Any
repeated events of failure by Resident Pet Owners & Pet Care Givers of these Guidelines shall be
reviewed by the society management team for necessary resolution. In case of any breach of the rules
which is reported either with visual proof (photo/ video/ CCTV footage) and/or with a written report
from the Security personnel, a fine of Rs. 500/- may also be imposed for every instance.
