I. General Program Information


Program Title: PROMOTING PURPOSIVE STUDY HABITS
with the Division Initiated Projects

Program Description This program is designed to enhance teachers’


instructional competence for promoting
purposive study habits and projects in school
(Strand 4.6) . Activities will focus on :

 Appropriate activities and projects


that cultivate good study habits
Prerequisite Program None

INTRODUCTION:

The priority training need of Magsaysay Memorial Elementary School teachers based
on consolidated NCBTS-TSNA is on Strand 4.6 on Promoting purposive study habits and
projects in school that can help improve the academic performance of the pupils.

Specific Objectives:

At the end of the training/ program, all participants are able to:

1. Prepare lesson plans / Log sheets with appropriate techniques and teaching
strategies for promoting good study habits and projects in school that will improve
learning performance.

2. Review Rights of Children and Institute measures of the school Child Protection
Policy against any violence or abuse.

3. Prepare a Project proposal for strengthening a Division Initiated Project.

4. Write action research on providing appropriate learning tasks and projects that support
the development of good study habits of pupils.

5. Internalize duty with commitment and responsible public service as the major role of
teachers in support to the Vision and Mission of the Department of Education

End of Program Outputs:

After the Formal Face to Face (F3) Component, each participant should be able present the
following outputs:

A. Portfolio containing the following:

1. Prepared lesson plan log sheets for the beginning of the third grading period.

2. School Child Protection Policy Handbook

3. Project Proposal with list of activities for Strengthening Division Initiated Projects

4. Action Research on promoting good study habits

5. Commitment Paper of teachers in support to the Vision and Mission of the


Department of Education
B. Job- Embedded Learning ( JEL) Component:

1. An agreed Schedule for mentoring, coaching, LAC Session, Teaching demonstration from
October 2014 to March 2015( Second Semester).

2. JEL Contract containing implementation activities to further enhance KSA’s in strand 4. 6
