STEP Standard 6 - Analysis of Student Learning

Post-Test Data: Whole Class - Once you have assessed your students’ learning on the topic, collect and
analyze the post-test data to determine the effectiveness of your instruction and assessment.

Post-Test Analysis: Whole Class

Based upon the data received from the post assessments, my interpretation of student learning is
that every student is at least partially proficient. Based on the scores comparing both the pre and
post assessment data demonstrates that several students made significant improvements within
their knowledge of the learning.

Upon review of the post assessment data, I believe my instruction was successful at delivering the
learning target. This was represented by the number of students who improved knowledge from
the pre assessment to the post assessment. Five of the twelve students showed significant progress
by advancing levels of proficiency.

Post-Assessment Analysis: Subgroup Selection

The subgroup I have decided to observe and evaluate the female students in class. I chose to use
these students as a subgroup because they showed the most significant amount of progression
between the pre and post assessments.

Post-Assessment Data: Subgroup (Gender, ELL population, Gifted, students on IEPs or 504s, etc.)

Post-Assessment Analysis: Subgroup

This subgroup showed significant progression for example the average score of this subgroup on
the pre assessment was a 68% and the post assessment average was a 88%. Based off of the
students’ scores I believe that appropriate learning took place.

The instruction was effective for this subgroup, validated by the results of the post assessment.
Every member of this subgroup meets or exceeds mastery of this lesson and learning objectives.

Post-Assessment Analysis: Subgroup and Remainder of Class

I found through the analysis of my assessment data the entire class made progression. This is a
clear sign that the instruction provided to the students was effective.

The next steps for my instruction is to incorporate some more differentiation of instruction. My
students still have deficits in math and multi step functions so I will continue to incorporate math
multiple step problems in the instruction. I will continue to review and link the instruction to
previously learned knowledge while advancing through the instruction.
