SYNOPSIS
● A Result Oriented Professional having around 9+ years of experience in Port based dry cargo operations,
commercial aspects of logistics, Fuel Management, team based management style with abilities in creating a
conducive environment worked at Ports of Visakhapatnam & Krishnapatnam.
● Currently associating with Vizag General Cargo Berth Pvt. Ltd, a unit of Vedanta Resources Plc. as an
Operations in-charge skilled at:
- Operations’ Management in a Mechanized cargo handling system with a set of team.
- Associated with  Port officials, liaisoning with railway officials and coordinating with
CHP/Maintenance team from plant side for smooth flow of operations.
- Conveyors based mechanized cargo handling operations, Rotary & Rota Side wagon tipplers,
Rapid wagon loading, vessel loading with Ship Loader, discharging with HMC/shipunloaders.
- Transportation of Bulk & Bagged cargo through Road / Rail

● Oversee and control entire gamut of port operations & vessel handling including finalizing of cargo
discharge/loading operations with interaction of vessel crew, yard planning, equipment planning, and
manpower planning to achieve stipulated discharge/load rates.
● Handled CMAC (CARGO MONITORING & ACCOUNTING CELL), in which dealing with Cargo Operational
Planning, Rake, Road movements & Shipments.
● Execution of various Bulk Cargo Operations including Coal, Fertilizers, Barites, Iron Ore & Granite Through
the customer requested mode of operations.
● Enhancement of customer retention, business visibility and customer satisfaction.

AREAS OF EXPERTISE
Planning & Management
● Formulating Management Information System / reports and presenting the same to the management.
● Ensuring commodity related compliances such as customs, ports & others.
● Vessel-Yard-Rail/Gate operation planning and supervision according to the assignment, manpower allocation,
reducing vessel to truck & rake turnaround time & efficient utilization of equipment.
● Preparing inventory reports, daily stock position & various other checklists.
● Coordinating with customers & railways for rake planning. Preparing siding/yard wise rake plan for next day
allotments by I.R ensure clean operation.
● Coordinating with yards department regarding required equipment’s based on vessels position, rake plan &
indents progressive position and coordinating with customers for placing rake indents as per requirements.
● Enhancement of long term handling contracts with Port based Captive units, major importers / exporters

Carrier Functions

● Designing logistic plans and monitor timely dispatching of consignments, ensuring efficiency in all aspects of
the delivery cycle. Coordinating with Internal / External customers to provide cost-effectiveness.

● My experiences are playing an important role in my day to day planning, implementation, development of
Vessel & cargo operation.
● As per job given to me by clients, I have shown more commitment and follow through on the task. Here in
understanding the key rolls pertaining to ongoing operation, projects and accordingly planning of the same.

CMAC (Cargo Monitoring & Accounting Cell)

● In which deals with all cargo’s road & rake planning, focused on Railway Sidings Operations
● Preparing Storage Charges to Coal Customers based on daily dispatches and the same forwarding to Accounts
Department.
● Placing Rake Indents with Indian Railways and shifting cargo according their Plan, As per Customer
Requirements.
● Monitoring the supervising staff regarding cargo Inter-carting details of every rake task to load the desired
cargo of customer and the whole operation need to be complete within the target time.
● Coordinating with the customers in respect to Railway indents placement / Freight calculation and payment /
Rake Movement reports / Inter-carting / Demurrage Waiver / RR & Destination Report.
● Achievement of targets set by management in handling of coal at dominant market share comparing other
Port handling & Port pricing forecasts according to satisfaction of various customers.
● Maximization of cargo dispatches, transit storage reduction & evacuation strategy.
● Coordinating with Logistics supplier, Surveyors & Customers Regarding Rake/Road Forecast.

Gate operations
● Checking documents for export & import cargoes.
● Co-ordination with the transporter for indented vehicles.
● Updating of stock and movement register on daily basis. Coordinating with the gate operations staff for
collecting reports (all by road/by rake dispatches).

Jetty operations
● Berth the vessel at proper position w.r.t shore cranes/Mechanized system for safe & smooth operation.
● Follow the loading /discharging sequence at all times for smooth operation.
● Initial and final draft survey supervision.
● Cargo re-conciliation on a daily basis, vessel to vessel basis and daily traffic review.

ORGANISATIONAL DETAILS
Associating with The Vizag General Cargo Berth Pvt. Ltd, a unit of Vedanta Resources Plc. has been awarded by
Visakhapatnam Port for mechanization of coal handling facilities on DBFOT basis as Operations I/C since Feb 2017.
Sembcorp Power Complex one of the leading power producers utilizes supercritical technology consisting 2640-
megawatt coal-fired plant as A.M-Shipping & Logistics since Nov’15 to Jan’ 2017.
Essar Ports-Vizag Terminal as a Dy.Manager-YARDS & RAIL MANAGEMENT from May ’14 to Nov’15.
Previously worked with M/s. Krishnapatnam Port Co Ltd., as a Sr.Exec- Cargo Operations since Jun ‘09 To May ‘14.

The attainment at Sembcorp Power Complex

● Co-ordination with various departments in CHP and KP Port to achieve timely & smooth flow of operation.
● Gathered exposure of various commercial activities like vessel chartering, load and discharge port operational
activities and involved in project development activities.
● Dealing with Various Coal Suppliers Sales Contract Management, committed with KP Port Service Agreement.

● Co-ordination with various departments to achieve maximum loading/unloading & make delay free operation.
● Gathered exposure of Wagon Tippler, Ship loader, Stacker & Reclaimer equipment and Belt Conveyor system.
