INTRODUCTION

SCHOOL OF EDUCATION AND SOCIAL SCIENCE (SESS) organized a ‘HIGH TEA’ event for all FTESL
students and it is going to be a yearly event for the faculty. College life is a time where memories
and long lasting friendship bonds among the students are created and most of the time, these bonds
last a lifetime. In order to reminiscence the glory memories of being FTESL students and also to
appreciate all the hard work made by the FTESL lectures in nurturing the students throughout one
year of FTESL programme, and to strengthen the bonds between way than having an ‘HIGH TEA’
event to celebrate the memory of being a student in SESS.

LOCATION

This ‘HIGH TEA’ event was located in Management and Science University at SCD Level 4.

DATE

The date of the event was on 9th august 2018.

PARTICIPANTS

The participants for this event is SESS student (FTESL) and lecturers. The number of students for this
event are 110 and the number of lectures are 2.

There were 15 VIPS.

Prof. Dr. Norhisham Mohamad, (The Dean for the SESS faculty) could not make it for the ‘HIGH TEA’
event. The speech was given by Miss Cathy on behave the Dean.

OBJECTIVES OF EVENT

Objectives of the event are :

 Appreciate all the hard work and sacrifice made by the FTESL lecturers in teaching and
mentoring.
 Provide and prepare FTESL students with corporate soft skills and experience in organizing
grand event which may be useful in the near future.

REFLECTION

a) What were the three (3) main things that I have learnt from the event?

- The first main things that I have learnt from the event is team corporation. The second main thing
that I have learnt from the event is teamwork. The third main things that I have learnt from the
event is friendship bonds.

b) What are the issues arise among the group members while organizing this event?

- The issues arise among the group members while organizing this event is the members are not
contributing. For example, the members are quiet and not participating. The second issue is poor
communication. For example, the team members may not interrupt or talk over one another. The
third issues arise among the group members while organizing this event is groupthink. For example,
there was a lack of critical thinking and debate over ideas .

c) What are the areas that we need to improve as a team?

-The area that we need to improve as a team is creativity. For example, the team members should
think out of the box and bring innovation. The second area that we need to improve as a team is
team strength. For example, each of them in the team should have equal strength by not having
misunderstanding among them. The third area that we need to improve as a team is team boldness.
For example, each of them in the team should interrupt their ideas more bravely and clearly.
