4. Describe what the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments do. Why are they important
to Reconstruction?
5. Describe how Black Codes worked. Give at least two examples. How were
southerners able to get away with implementing them?

6. Post-Civil War life was often referred to as the Reign of Terror for blacks.
Explain why that is and name one group that terrorized them and one group
that tried to help. Give one example of how they were terrorized and helped.
