PHOTOGRAPHIC DOCUMENTATION
SOURCES OF INSPIRATION

I put the main emphasis in my graduation work on ebru, Turkish for "cloud art," a technique which originated in
Turkey in the 1400s. It involves “painting on the water surface”.I chose the basic shades of white and black.
They are colors of marble, Ying and Yang, balance and harmony. During the printing process I played
with the dynamic of the values seen in the continuous transitions from the darker shades to the lighter ones. This
is in similar fashion to the flow of energy, moving both irregularly and in waves.

I chose absolutely straightforward and minimalist cuts for all of my outfits in order to emphasise the material itself
and the printing pattern. If I had chosen a more complicated manipulation the ultimate outfit would not
have come out very well, as the cut and the pattern would only interfered with each other.
The kimono is a symbol of timelessness for me. A completely uncomplicated cut combined with beautiful patterns.
Each model is inspired by a different line of kimono: silhouette, collar, coarse waistband or sleeves
For each coat I choosed natural cotton.
Method :
1. Solution preparation – Mix the special Ebru powder with the correct amount of water.
2. Pour the solution into the waterproof box.
3. Drop the colour on the water surface using water brushes.
4. Lay the canvas carefully from one side to the other on the water surface.
5. Wait for a few seconds until the color attaches perfectly to the fabric.
6. Carefully pull the printed canvas over the edge of the box.
7. Let the cloth dry.
8. Wash and iron the cloth.
