A driller found out that the well is flowing at the mud pit level when he is drilling, 9” hole section at
10500 ft. The driller uses mudweight of 11 ppg.

Given that:

 Shut in drillpipe pressure = 180 psi

 Casing pressure = 220 psi
 Pit gain = 15 bbls.
 Drillstring = 380 ft of 6-1/4” x 2-1/4” drill collars

Determine the following:

1) Formation pressure

2) Kill mudweight (assume overbalance of 150 psi)

3) Type of influx
