INTRODUCTION

The product that will be proposed here is ‘Book Stand’ by using machine laser
cutting that can carry to market.
Purpose of this product is to separate a categories of books. However a book border
exist in a market now is to plane and unattractive. This product is designed to make it more
stylish and attractive. It is light and easy to use. It is also can be as souvenir and can be use
in home, office, school, library and many more.
This product is made from galvanize plate. It was processed/machine with a high
technology machine (laser cutting and hydraulic bending) and quit tough. It has no
stained and can be produce in a large quantity.
The price of this product is RM 10/pieces. Compared with other book border in a
market now, it was a quit low and standard because it have a design and more stylish. It
also made from a good material and well machining.
The company's goal is that of a multi-faceted success. Our first responsibility is to
the financial well-being of product. We will meet this goal while trying to consider;

 the effect of our products on the health and well being of our customers (and our
staff),
 the impact that our business practices and choices will have on the environment,
and

 the high quality of attitude, fairness, understanding, and generosity between


management, staff, customers, and vendors. Awareness of all these factors and the
responsible actions that result will give our efforts a sense of purpose and meaning
beyond our basic financial goals.

MARKETING PLAN

Since the product is produced from KKTMBP homemade manufacturing, therefore


we will be proud to market the product as the product of KKTMBP. We will add KKTMBP’s
identity to the product and sell it to the visitors as souvenirs from KKTMBP and we will
also sell the product as corporate gift of KKTMBP administration and it means that, the
college is our main target market to buy the product as corporate gift to the visitors.

Even though the concept of this business is selling home-made product, we will
promotes or advertise the products by using the banner that shows our strategic locations,
business card, makes flyers-blitz and direct contact or communications between the
college community and friends around Balik Pulau area.

Marketing Strategy
Focusing on the unique aspect of the product theme (stylish) a mix of marketing vehicles
will be created to convey our presence, our image, and our message.

 Print media -- local newspapers, magazines and student publications


 Broadcast media -- local programming and special interest shows
 Hotel guides, concierge relations, Chamber of Commerce brochures
 Direct mail -- subscriber lists, offices for delivery
 Misc. –yellow pages, charity events

THE TARGET MARKET

The market for Book Stand shows positive results. Since 90% of the people use the
book stand, so it easy for us to market our product. Whether at home, colleges and
universities and others . More than that, our product portrays the trendy and simple
designs that meet the needs of the every bookstore and stationary. This product is a simple
and cheap so most of people since they still need to spend money on other expensive
things in other way.

The customer base will come from 7 major segments;

 Home – it will make an easy for anybody to put the books.


 Schools, Colleges and Universities – some school, colleges or universities have a
hostel, so they can locate books on their desk and table.
 Bookstore and Stationary- its easy for customer to find the books and look tidy.
 Library- can arrange the books following the title. Students and people can easy to
find their favorite books.
 Office- the clerk, stuffs and others can put the books properly on their tables.

MATERIAL SELECTION

 After we had made the discussion, comparison and research, we had decided that
we want to use the galvanize sheet metal as the material product.
 This is because galvanize have corrosion resistant in a dry environment. It is also
light in weight and easy to handle.
 By using galvanize sheet metal, it also didn’t need a finishing process such as
grinding or painting. It can save cost.

 Light in weight
 Excellent resistance to corrosion and stretch.
 Good surface for bending.
 Easy to produce, assembly and an economic material

PROJECT COSTING

Machining cost : RM 180/hour


Material cost : RM110 (galvanize plate 4’ X 8’)

1 plate can produce 30 pieces of product.


Estimation time of 30 pieces of product is 30 minutes
So, 1 hour can produce 60 pieces of product

Cost of 60 pieces : machining cost + material cost


: =RM180 + RM220
: =RM400

Cost for 1 pieces : RM400/60


: =RM6.67

Market price : RM10 per pieces


Profit Percentage
From cost (1pcs) : RM3.33/RM6.67 X 100%
= 49.92%

As for the conclusions, we hope that the product sold will be fulfill the target

quality products as same as the other established education institution. It also will prove
the college can produce quality graduates as the product produce is marketable and can be
used.
