As the citizens were jeopardised by the floodings,they emigrated to Turkey,or to

Mangalia,Bucharest,Orsova or Severin.Not only the white cold houses,but also the mosk were
demolished,and their ruins were swallowed by the waters.The huge Persian rug, offered by Sultan
Hamid the Second was delivered to the Mosk in Constanta,where is partially rolled,because it is too
large to be dispalyed,having 144 square meters. The archeologists managed to obtain fundings,so that
the fortress should be build down the river,on Simian Island,a strip of land which is 5 times smaller than
the original island.The work was partly done,because after 10 years they ran out of money.The walls full
of lizards are somehow appealing,but they cant portay the lure of the good old days.However,the island
is picturesque and it can provide the land needed for the construction of a part of Ada Khaleh,only if
some Turks,inspired by the ethnic vanity and helped by the Romanian Governemnt and eventually by
the Turkish Government,devolop a turstic spot,resembling the Near-East.The island shall smell again of
real coffee and roses oil.Is going to be hard to achieve this goal in a country that suffers from
Alzheimer,when it comes to historic and cultural herritage or when the land was meanwhile given back
