 La Romana, Dominican Republic October 2012, 2013
o Organized weekly meetings prior to departure to educate group of twenty-five
students on history of Dominican Republic and Haiti
o Coordinated fundraising and supply collection to bring to clinic in La Romana
o Led nightly reflections while in La Romana to reflect on experiences
o Coordinated students’ roles each day in clinics to cover all required tasks
o Supported clinics for Haitian immigrants working in sugar cane fields to receive
health screenings
 Tasks included taking blood pressures, physical assessment, working
with a translator, administering de-worming medication to children, fitting
