How does morality and ethics differ between Nick Caraway and Gatsby ?

Stocks, Claire. "'All men are [not] created equal': F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby: Claire

Stocks illustrates how the narrator's bias towards this novel's hero is central to the critique of belief in the

Stocks, who works at the University of Oxford as a lecturer, writes this for scholars

interested in learning more about The Great Gatsby and The American Dream. She

connects Gatsby and how his American dream and how he obtained it differs from how

Tom and Daisy got theirs. The writer describes how Gatsby threatens Toms image of

wealth and class. This connects to my topic by showing the difference of Gatsby’s

upbringing compared to that of Toms.

Marshall, a professor at the University of Illinois, wrote this article as a background to

the book The Great Gatsby. It is a pretty basic summary that sums up the book in one

paragraph. Being an English professor, the quality of the content is really accurate. The

background information helps me give my readers a sense of what I’m going to be

talking about in my introduction.

Marilyn Roberts wrote this article for students and faculty interested in comparing

The Great Gatsby and Scarface for similarities and connecting them to The

American dream. Overall it does a good job at comparing the two stories and

showing the difference in The American dream. This helps me with my research

because it gives me more than one perspective of the American dream and helps

me compare with different literatures. The article has a lot of citations, so it looks

very well researched.

helps not just students, but anyone interested in a bit of the “new” American dream. The

coverage is really good, and it contains quotes which help illuminate the point the writer

is trying to make. This again helps me with my essay because it helps me compare the

American dream in the great Gatsby to our modern American dream.

edited by Don Noble, Salem, 2010. Salem Online.

There isn’t much information about the writer but with the depth of knowledge on The

Great Gatsby and information about it makes me confident she is very well educated also

the fact that she published in a research database. The purpose it to show her thoughts on

the American dream related to what is happening in the book. This helps me with my

paper by helping me see not only this but along with my other sources different people’s

perspective and knowledge intake on the book’s idea of the American dream.
