Play-Based Learning:

In my philosophy of teaching that I believe in, learning is a cooperative process that consist on
children construct their knowledge of understanding the world around them by participating with
other children or with adults such as you as a parents and me as a teacher, play-based learning
includes verity of materials such as blocks, and art materials that develop their skills.

Five benefits of play-based learning:

1- Play can foster effective communication

2- Play helps develop social skills
3- Play develops cognitive, motor skills
4- Play creates confidence
5- Play inspires creativity (Top 5 Benefits of Learning Through Play, 2018).

Vygotsky’s theory support as well the collaboration learning in which more advanced peers can
help less advanced members in a group by socializing (McLeod, 2018)

My Teaching Philosophy (2)

Parental Involvement and Students Learning

I also believe that you as a parents have significant role on your children learning. Children
academic achievements relies on how often do you participate and follow your children progress
through attending parents meetings, school events, moreover you can volunteer for reading a story
for example or help me in decorate the class by bringing needed materials these kinds of
involvement are effective. According to Parent Involvement In Education article finding ‘’All the
research studies which address these areas found that parent involvement has positive effects on
student attitudes and social behavior’’ (Kathleen Cotton and Karen Reed Wikelund , 1989).

Importance of parental involving:

1-Students will perform better academically

2-Students will have positive attitude and behaviour

3- Students will improve in social skills (Parent Involvement in Education, 1989)

My Teaching Philosophy (3)

What are My Expectations?

1- Be affective members and follow up their children progress by attending parents meetings and show
up on school events, if there is any excuses please communicate with me on WhatsApp.

2- Work on developing your children reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in the home by
doing some activities such as reading stories, play follow direction game to enhance both listing and
cognitive skills, be creative in developing your children skills at home.

3- Always help your children in doing their homework.

4- Deal with misbehaviour seriously; no one want’s their children getting hurt by other children.

5- My expectation from children is follow direction from first time, be creative, think critically, and be
able to solve problem.

My Expectation (4)
My Classroom Information

I arranged for my classroom an excellent learning environment by using different classroom

strategies that will allow your children to think critically and solve their own problems and give
them the opportunity to be successful with building their personality and confidence. I will use a
rewording system to do competition on the good behaviour and in the end of each week student will
chose what he wants to do as a reword such as playing for 15 minutes at the playground, have a
special space for painting and drawing or chose a gift that I will give, this way children will be more
reasonable of their own actions and they will control it.

My classroom will be full of positive energy that based on respecting each other by following the
classroom rules which are: follow direction, raise your hands before you speak, be respectful to
others, and always do your best. In addition the classroom environmental print will change every
week according to the theme. (Teaching Safety Rules, n.d.)

Formative and Summative Assessments

I use formative and summative assessments in my class to assist my student’s development in academic
progress. The formative assessment alerts me to modify my lessons according your children understanding
for example if they didn’t understand the learning outcome, adjustments will be made to be suitable for your
children development. Examples of formative assessment’s strategies that will use in the classroom:

1- Questioning Individually or as a group

2- Self-Assessment
3- Peer-Assessment

The questioning type of assessment will be applied during the learning process as a group or individually
students will raise 1 finger if he doesn’t understand, raise 2 fingers if he understand half of the content and
raise 3 fingers to show his full understanding, self-Assessment will allow your children reflect on their own
learning process to know what they do well and what they struggle at, and peer-assessment students will be
using each other as learning resources. I chose these methods of formative assessments to develop my
students self-steam, asses them to be aware of their educational needs and understand what are my
expectations from them (Formative Assessment, 2014).

Assessment (6)
Formative and Summative Assessments

The summative assessments is used in the end of the unit and year to evaluate students learning and
skills acquiring

Examples of formative assessment’s strategies that will use in the classroom:

1- Portfolio
2- Project product
3- Chick list

In my classroom I will have different assessments that match my student level high, medium or
low the chick list will show me each student progress in different areas or subjects, other
assessments will be by creating and evaluating their own product and the portfolio will be used to
document all the process of each student learning (Summative Assessment, 2013).

Parent’s Involvement Methods: I planned several methods to encourage parent’s involvement in
the classroom and the school generally. It’s great to get know to each other and help each other to
build very successful learning environment for your children, may aim of this involvement is to
watch your children development by yourself and involve in his learning by doing some activities
such as;

1- Reading stories to whole class that will give your child feeling of respecting them as
individuals.
2- Volunteer in decorate the classroom or the school if there is any events, that’s also will
allow us to build strong conversations about your children and his daily achievements.
3- Invite you as our speaker guest if your career is related to our theme or unit.
4- Invite you to the school events such as healthy food day, monster day, and flag-day.
5- Invite you to parent-teacher conference, share ideas and thoughts to other parents.

Each parent will have a chance to document their achievements and their children performance and
skills (Teachers: involving parents in school, 2018).

Suggestion for parents support their children educational experience at home

1- Always talk with your child and show interest: this will improve his listing speaking and
reading skills as well as follow direction and pay attention in the class
2- Encourage your children to be responsible and work independently: this will make it
clear to your child that he has to be responsible of his action at school and at home
3- Encourage active learning: parents take responsibility for making their children curious at
home or in supermarket for example find numbers, shapes ask them these questions, listen
to answers, give them chance to solve a problem and let them explore (White, 2018).
