Overall aim and context of the lesson

Identify the letter and the sound ‘T’

Select (S):
I taught my class the English subject about the letter ‘T’. My students should recognize the letter and the sound of
the letter. There are four activities in my class.

Describe (D):
I taught my class which is kindergarten2 A in New World American Private School, the lesson was in the class
and the class is in the kindergarten department. The achievements that I want from my students to achieve are to
recognize the letter and the sound of the letter T. In the circle time, I play a song about the letter T and they were
standing and singing, after that, I showed them how we write the letter T and the directions. Then I asked my
students to give me some words that started with this letter after they raised their hands, for example, one of my
students said “Tomato” but I raised the card that had a picture of a table and I asked them again is this tomato?
And then they respond to my questions. They repeated after me the sound and the name letter of letter T.

Analyze (A):
Half of my students were coming from their homes to kindergarten2, they did not enter kindergarten1. It was
difficult to understand well what they should to do when they are in a certain area in the class, also it was difficult
to control them, and after that I did not notice that my voice was very low and that why some of my students were
felt lost.
In the activities area, the students were engaged to do the activities especially the activities that I prepared for
them. The activities were find the letter and make a train, after they made their trains me and my teacher hanged
their works on a rope in the class. As Bloom's Taxonomy, in the art corner, I want my students to be in the higher
level which is to create and to be creative you should produce your own work/production. I showed my students
my art work and I let them to make it by their own production (make a train).

Appraise (A):
The students were felt challenges to do and complete my activities, also there were interaction to do more of my
activities. Some of them they like to stay a long time in one activity to do it again and again. My lesson was
achieved my teaching goals because I prepared different kind of activities in each corner, and I the circle time I let
to every student to repeat after me the name and the sound of the letter.
Transform (T):
I will prepare an auditory activity in the future, and I will ask my students after each lesson about the activities
and how you would like to be the activities. My implication for my professional practice is I notice after each
lesson the activities that my students like it, and the activities that were difficult for them. I try to make a new
activity that is good for them.
