Sometime back we discussed about the Transportation scheduling in SAP. Please click here to read it.
Today I will explain the system behavior of assigning a unloading point calendar to the ship to party with
the transportation scheduling activated.

When there is no calendar assigned to the ship to party

When there is no unloading point calendar assigned to the ship to party, the outbound scheduling
determine the confirmed delivery date in the sales order based on the lead time defined in the route.

See below example:

Customer "3604200010" has no calendar assigned.

• Order creation date: 17/11/2011 (Thursday)

• Requested delivery date: 17/11/2011
• Based on the configuration system should determine the route "360010" for this customer.
• Lead time defined in the route - 2 days

Therefore system should determine the confirmed delivery date as 19/11/2011 (Saturday) for the sales
order.

See below for the system behavior for confirmed delivery date calculation for this customer;

System automatically set the confirmed delivery date to 19/11/2011 based on the lead time defined in
the route. (Sales order - 8716609)
When there is a calendar assigned to the ship to party
Let's assign a calendar which has only Friday as a working day. Calendar ZF has only Friday as working
day.

When I assign this calendar to the ship to party, outbound scheduling can determine only Friday's as
confirmed delivery date. Therefore system should not determine 19/11/2011 as the confirmed delivery
date, but 25/11/2011.

Assign calendar to the ship to party

Assign calendar "ZF" to the customer "3604200010".
Confirmed delivery date calculation based on the customer calendar
Now let's create a sales document for the customer. Still system determines the route "360010" which
has 2 days lead time.

Though the requested delivery date is 17/11/2011, based on the customer calendar, system first moves
the confirmed delivery date to the next possible Friday which is 18/11/2011. Therefore you get below
message.

Now due to outbound scheduling, system determines that 18/11/2011 is also not possible as lead time
of the route "360010" is 2 days, which is 19/11/2011. Still 19/11/2011 cannot be determined as
customer calendar is accepting only Fridays. Therefore system moves the confirmed delivery date to
next possible Friday which is 25/11/2011. (Sales order - 8716610)

You will not be able to change the confirmed delivery date manually back to 18/11/2011. Finally you will
see the confirmed delivery date as 25/11/2011 in the sales order. (See below)
