o More tenor 1 than other parts (they have the melody)

- Put all three parts together

- Rehearse until memorized
- Things to consider:

o General: phrases should be connected and smooth. Very legato.

Dansi Na Kuimba
- Sight read the whole piece with piano
- Review general rhythm on ‘long time ago’ section
- Go over the road map of the piece on board
- Work on stronger sound in solo sections
- Rehearse and review until memorized
- Things to consider:
o Long time ago section: breath ONLY after young, and sun.
o Then came a beat section: breath ONLY after strong, and begun.
o Dansi na kuimba section: ba is only a quarter note ALWAYS.
o Always observe the length of notes (quarter notes must be short)

Estrella Blanca
- Listen to the piece
- Sectionals: Run fix run all sections (m. 13-16, 17-23/24, 27-39, 40-53, 54-67,
68-72)
- Put it together T/B, run fix run, tune, legato all the way through
- [estreYa NOT estreLLa]
- Rehearse and review until memorized
- Put together with S/A during after school rehearsals
- Things to consider:
o No breath during ‘but a start beaming in the sky will guide my steps
and bring me home.”
o Luz: loos
o Bring out m. 29 ‘my head’ and m. 35 ‘bring me home’
o The whole piece is legato, any moving lines should be treated as such
(especially tenors)
o Key change has a huge rit.
o Dynamics build until the end of the key change, then die down quickly
o Ending should be as serene as possible
