    Minerva started as a manufacturer of bicycles in 1897 and began producing motorcycles in 1902 and automobiles in 1904, becoming known for its high-end luxury cars. At its peak in the 1910s and 1920s, Minerva was one of the largest car manufacturers in Belgium, employing over 6,800 workers. However, it struggled during the Great Depression and went bankrupt in 1934. In the 1990s, Minerva reinvented itself as the first private label tyre brand in Europe, initially focused on summer tires but expanding its product lines and global operations over the following decades to become an innovative budget tyre option with one of the most extensive size ranges.
