Henrol Fayal’s: French engineer, his concept state that the function of management approach

into practice of management, he practiced functions must performed by managers, he


conceptualized that a series of management functions planning and organizing, controlling.

He classified managerial task into six categories:

1. Technical
2. Commercial
3. Financial
4. Securities
5. Accounting
6. Managerial

Also he focused on these activities practice in every organization, he explain that all managerial
activities must done according to the fallowing

1. Planning meant that the organization must forecast the upcoming activities and achieving
the goals of the organization
2. Organizing focuses on to organize employees to reach the target that organization is hope
to achieve
3. Commanding activities must be done according to the hierarchy of the organization
without breaking rules and commands of the managers
4. Controlling; managers must fellow all activities done the way we planned, proceeded
activities and achieving those goals.

Max weber: a German sociologist, 1900, he developed that organizational authority structure into
practical activities; he defined his ideal Authority Bureaucracy. Organizations structures performed by
managers like division of labor, Authority relations, performance of work, clearly defined work activities,
rules and regulation of the organization. His ideal theory structure practices many large organizations.

ELTON MAYO: 1880-1949 He is professor of Harvard business school he was the founder
of Hawthorne Experiment from Hawthorne electricity Company USA. He proposed that Taylor’s
application of management theories into production activities.

Mayo experiment involved manipulation illumination of one group compering output of another
group, the two group production activities is not the same one group activities is more productive
then other group. This group has effective and efficient work because he receives incentive from
the top managers, promotions and etc. also he also focuses on supervision, giving autonomy to
the workers, cohesive group workers, creating condition the built organizational growth and
the cooperation between workers and management to maximize profit.
Mayo contribution to management was enhancing performance of workers with psychological,
sociological, physical structure to reach the maximum goal objective of the organization.

Mary parker Follett: 1968-1933; she is philosopher which her ideas focus on management
practice. She contributed that practice management of immense group. Her idea is related on
encouraging workers to do job combined with the manager. Manager should believe that they are
in common group with the workers. She practices the power is not exercising in power to
workers but to work smoothly and effectively to increase the activity of power to the leading
group.

Abraham Maslow: a humanistic psychologist that related five hierarchy of needs Psychological,
security, social, esteem and self-actualization. He refers the need of psychological needs must be
first to motivate you satisfaction.

Dougles Mcgregor 1906-1964: he has formulated two theories assumptions theory X and
Theory Y, Where theory X involves Traditional views man and work and theory Y involves
humane views man and work. Theory x is a man of lazy and his work is stressed he perform
very bad organization according to dislike of work, ambition and avoid responsibility.
Theory Y is man of work whose work is very effective and efficient. His condition of work is
very taught and take full responsibility according to work and facing healthy work.

Theory X is sluggish and shirker where theory y is work man and he is favorable
Theory X is not ambition and afraid of responsibility where theory y is taking full responsibility
of work.
