Advanced Interactions
Advanced Interactions 12. Axis Control (1)

To use Revolve tool, Planar Volume tool, or to create

polar-symmetry strokes, you need to set axis plane with
non-drawing hand trigger in advance.

▫ Snap Axis: Half pull trigger on non-drawing hand

to snap the plane to 45 degree increments. It will
also snap to the World axis.

▫ Recover Axis
1. Highlight the object that you want to recover
the axis with drawing Hand.(Intersect Grabber)
2. Half pull non-drawing hand trigger to enter axis
snapping mode. You should see the “axis”
appear inside the original object.
3. Move your non-drawing hand to this location.
Axis will snap to the recovered axis.

Please check tutorial video for details.

Advanced Interactions 12. Axis Control (2)

Similar to Recover Axis interaction, you can snap Axis

plane of Revolve, Volume(Planar), or Planar Ink/Stroke
onto any reference image that is NOT anchored to the
world.

▫ Snap Axis onto Reference image

1. Unanchor your reference image that you want
to snap Axis plane onto.

2. Highlight the image you want to place Axis

plane on with drawing hand.(Intersect Grabber)

3. Half pull non-drawing hand trigger to enter axis

snapping mode. You should see a red axis on
the center of the image.

4. Move your non-drawing hand to this location.

Axis plane will snap to the reference image.
Advanced Interactions 13. Smart Move

Activate the option in the Settings menu to use Smart

Move. Smart Move allows linear or rotational move and
copy, constrained to axis between lined up controllers.

1. Highlight any object or control point you want to

modify by making an intersection with Grabber
on your drawing hand.

2. When you align both controllers, the preview axis

will appear. Any grab interaction performed when
the axis is visible will be constrained by the axis.

▫ To move along the axis, align controllers to go in

the same direction.

▫ To rotate an object around the axis, face each

front of controller.
Chapter 4.

Drawing Tools
Drawing Tools 14. Tool Properties

There are 6 drawing tools that you can use. Each tool has
a series of parameters that you can edit.

▫ Press Tools button on your non-drawing hand and

choose one with drawing hand trigger.

▫ Click the highlighted tool again to open the control

panel.

▫ Tip: You can peel out each tool panel from your
controller. Grab a panel handlebar* on the bottom
and pull it off onto your scene. You can also scale
the user interface. Grab and delete the floating
user interface to close and place it back in your
hand.

the directory is good to use.

Support 38. Rhino Integration (Studio License)

If you are working with Gravity Sketch and Rhino 3D, you
can achieve a seamless workflow by opening a saved GRS
file directly into Rhino without exporting it.

1. Install Gravity Sketch Studio and Rhino 5 for

Windows or a newer version for integration.

2. Locate plugin files in your Steam library folder:

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Gravity
Sketch VR\RhinoPlugin

3. Drag GSFileImporter.rhp onto Rhino viewport to

install the plugin.

4. Open GRS files in Rhino. GRS is a Gravity Sketch

file saving format. Your saved file is compressed
in ZIP format and located in:
My Documents/Gravity Sketch/Saved Sketches

▫ Tip: GRS model units are measured in metres.

▫ Tip: If an OBJ file is in the ZIP file, import it with GRS.
