Job Title: Volunteering

Company: Greenleaf Child Center

Street: Highway Floreasca, no.169a

City, Country: Bucharest, Romania

Date: 23th of April, 2018

Dear Mr. Popescu,

I am interested in an opportunity to volunteer with the Greenleaf Child Center. I have significant
experience working with children and I would like to continue to do so in a volunteer capacity.

I volunteered as a teacher’s aide at the Champlain School and enjoyed being able to help kindergarteners
learn during their first experience in a class room. In this position, I assisted with classroom projects,
provided one-on-one literacy tutoring to the children, and chaperoned field trips. I also contributed
additional time, outside of my set hours, to stay after school and assist with extracurricular activities.

For the past several winters, I volunteered with children on the slopes of a local ski resort, assisting
coaches with teaching basic skiing to toddlers and elementary school age children.

If the Greenleaf Center has a need for a dedicated volunteer, I would be thrilled to have the opportunity to
assist. I believe it would be an excellent opportunity to develop my interest in early childhood education,
a field I wish to study and pursue professionally in the future.

My schedule is flexible and I am available to volunteer both evening and weekend hours, as well as
during the day. Please feel free to reach out to me via email or cell phone.

I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you in person to discuss any potential opportunities at the
Greenleaf Child Center.

Thanks for your consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Anina Mihai

Name of the establishment: The Electrical Store

Adress: Street ` Crinului`, no.94

City, Country: Bucharest, Romania

Subject: EasyIron Electric Iron (Model No.2279)

Date: 6th of April, 2018

Dear Mr. David Emerson,

I wish to express my dissatisfaction with the above iron, which I purchased from `The Electrical Store` in Bucharest
on 2th of April, 2018. On using it for the first time, I found that the temperature control was faulty. It was not
possible to set it for any temperature apart from the highest, for cotton.

When I attempted to return the iron to the store, the cashier said that the store was unable to replace it or offer me a
refund but advised me that it could be sent away for repair. As I need an iron on a daily basis, and it was not clear
how long a repair would take, this option was unsatisfactory.

As the iron clearly does not function as it should and therefore does not comply with the legal standards of product
quality, I am writing to you to ask for a full refund of the £35.99 retail price. I look forward to hearing from you
within the next two weeks.

Yours truly,

Anina Mihai

friend.

For starters, I have to tell you that this new house is bigger than the one you know. It has three rooms
overlooking the nearest park. It is situated in a very friendly neighborhood and ever if I moved here
recently I have already made new friends. I can’t wait to start redecorating the house and I hope you could
give me some pieces of advice since you know I’m not as good as you when it comes to art.

Oh! And did I tell you that I bought a dog? It’s a golden retriever and it is only two months old. It is so
sweet, you will like it immediately. I hope you can visit me soon! And by the way what have you been

5. Essay (Arguments for and against of having a part-time job as a student)
Many students work while attending university for many different reasons. It can be difficult to balance
work and school, but it can certainly be done. Actually, there are many advantages such as earning money,
a new experience, development of the organization skills. However, you should take into account some
disadvantages, for instance, the lack of time and stress.

Generally speaking, students can benefit a lot from part-time jobs. The first advantage is that students can
earn money. Taking a part-time job, in this point, students can pay a part of their living cost, and at the
same time relieve their parents`burden. Some young people have to earn money on their own to pay the
tuition while others just earn money to pay for their expenditure or satisfy their desire. Moreover, earning
money also help students have a sense of independence. It is great when you earn your own money while
not having to rely on others to give it to you.

Second, another advantage is that students can acquire more experiences and polish their skills when
taking part-time jobs. For example, if someone enjoys teaching, working part-time as a tutor may help
him or her improve teaching skills and gain experiences.

Third, it can help students develop their organizational and multi-tasking skills. They will have to get
used to holding a job and attend the university simultaneously. It is the chance to learn time management.
Working will force a person to complete work ahead of schedule and learn to manage their time
appropriately. There are some simple ways to manage your time easily, for instance not to waste your time
on the Internet, to limit social activities and others.

On the contrary, there are some disadvantages, too. First of all, it is the lack of time for focus on studies.
There is a high possibility that students will have trouble finding time to study. It is obvious that if you
have a job, you automatically have less time to do the rest. Students doing part-time jobs are busy running
between the working place and the university . As a result, they get exhausted, and even skip classes to
have a sleep after hard work. Moreover, they may experience stress with a difficult or time-consuming
project. Also, it can endanger the health.

In conclusion, nothing is perfect. Maintaining a job while attending school is not for everyone.

A self-motivated and well-organized person may find it easier to balance work and school, while another
really needs to concentrate to do well in studies may find having a job is too difficult. So all of us should
think twice before taking part-time jobs. And when we take it, we can’t ignore our other duties.
6. My Portrait
Sometimes it is hard to describe yourself, because you know yourself so well that you do not
know where to start with. I am a person who is positive about every aspect of life. There are
many things I like to do, to see and to experience.

My name is Anina Mihai. I am 24 years old and I live in Bucharest. I am a tall girl, who has
long blonde hair and green eyes. My family consists of my father, my mother, my two little
sisters and myself. My father is a veterinarian and my mother is housewife. My two younger
sisters are still pupils in the high school.

I have always been an academically bright student, because I am a very patient person, very
determined and hardworking. I have capability to work under extremely stressful conditions.
Being qualified in Foreign Languages, I am used to working long and hard hours, around the
clock. In fact, my work keeps the fires burning for me.

I guess, my basic instinct is to keep learning and exploring, all the times. Reading has been my
hobby since childhood, and it is an activity, in which I spend most of my spare time. I can read
anything: ranging from newspapers, magazines to science journals.

One of my other interests is shopping. Every time, I find myself ready for buying clothes. I
guess the process of shopping also involves exploring various articles, in search of finding the
perfect article of your choice. This could be a reason, that shopping interests me.

I think, I am a sensitive person. At times, I find it hard to hide my emotions, though, in general,
I have a good control over the way and I carry myself. Another aspect of my personality is that,
I am a very creative person. I think, creativity is the key to any problem / situation. One has to
think creatively in order to break down a problem into the smaller and more manageable
components.

I love to treat people with respect and I never look down on them, even if they make mistakes or
dissapoint me. My friends say that I am a very funny girl with a good sense of humor. As soon as
I meet new people who are happy to meet me, I feel extremely comfortable with them. I believe
that friendship is one of the most important values in human life. We exchange new ideas, find
many interesting things about each other and experience new things. I appreciate friendship and
people who surround me.

In conclusion, nobody is perfect. Everybody has both good and bad qualities, but there are some
distinct qualities which separate me from others and give me different identity. Hard work is the
best quality that helps me achieve my goals easily. I like to study a lot and this interest helps me
to gain my educational qualifications. Good habits and good qualities have always helped me to
challenge difficult circumstances of life and they have also encouraged me to achieve better
future and build my career.
