Pakistan Appeal There are envelopes on the welcome desk for a
special offering for those suffering after the floods in Pakistan. If you
want to Gift Aid your gift please put your name address and contact
details inside the envelope with your offering. These will be
collected in today, but you can still hand them in to the office this
Freedom in Christ The next course will start tomorrow at the
Vicarage at 7.30. Have a word with Dawn or Rose for more info. Or

Prayer meeting We meet again tonight at 6.30 pm. Come
Face2Face with God.
3rd Sunday Event When = BBQ 18th September. Where = Vicarage
garden straight after the morning service. Please bring your own
food, drink & chairs. Helpers and Chef’s wanted please see Guy or
Parish Weekend 8th - 10th October, booking forms are very slow at
coming in. It is now only four weeks so let’s have your completed
forms now which are available on the welcome desk. Please put
your booking and deposit in the box provided, book now to avoid
disappointment. Paul Alexander and his wife Carol, principal of
Mattersey Bible college and renowned conference speaker will lead
our studies. The college is also intending to staff our kids groups.

Parish Weekend Transport If you require transport to the Parish
Weekend can you please see Phil.
Reading Rota The rota is being updated for reading in church if you
would like to do readings in services at church please speak to Dawn
or Don.
Bible Study Are you interested in joining a Bible study group? From
Tuesday 14th September at 7.30 pm we’ll be meeting weekly to
study the Parables of Jesus. If you are interested please see either
Andy or Sandy Vanstan or Pat
Hartley. Alternatively call Andy & Sandy on 01924 899951 for
After-School Club We are thinking of starting up a new After-School
Club based in the Parish Rooms. It will probably be on a Thursday
from 4.00 pm until 5.00 pm and will be aimed at children in School
Years 5 and 6 (ages 9 to 11 years). No experience necessary, but if
you think you’ve got a particular skill and would like to get involved
please see Diane Brennan.
PCC The next meeting is on Wednesday 15th September, the
agendas are in the pigeon holes.
Rotas The service rotas for October are in the pigeon holes.
Invitation Michael Lawrence Addy and Shirley Tate invite the church
family to join in our special day when we exchange wedding vows
on Saturday October 23rd at 11.00 am. Coffee/tea and cake will be
served following the service. Will volunteers to serve tea/coffee
please see Chrissie Steels.
Thank You Cliff and Jane thank you, our All Saints family, for the
love expressed by your prayers for us and the cards received to
mark our move to Cambridge and our 30th wedding anniversary.
We are deeply grateful to God for drawing us to Normanton and for
the relationships formed during our 4 years with you. We have
appreciated your encouragement, support, humour and affection.
May God continue to work through you to bless and reach others for
Church Walk - Monday 13th September
Our next Monday afternoon walk is on the 13th. This will be a local
walk of around 3 or 4 miles but we have not settled on the location
yet, we will leave the Parish Church Rooms at 1.00 pm. As usual,

Baptist Church Edith Dawson is leaving the Baptist church to be a

chaplain at Kings Mill Hospital, Mansfield her farewell gathering at
the Methodist Church between 4.15 and 5.45 pm followed by
worship at 6.00 pm. It is an open invitation for all.

Yorkshire Philharmonic Choir The new season for the Yorkshire

Philharmonic Choir begins with a musical celebration based on
the ‘Last Night of the Proms’. This will include all the traditional
favourites as well as some popular orchestral and choral numbers.
It’s a new venue too - The Queen Elizabeth Hall at the Queen
Elizabeth Grammar School (QEGS) on Sunday evening 3rd October,
7.30 pm. Tickets are £12 (£10),

season information leaflet at the back of church, but here’s
advanced notice of the first performance of Handel’s Messiah in
Wakefield for several years - Sunday evening 21st November at 7.30
pm in Wakefield Cathedral, featuring the YPC, soloists and orchestra.
Experiencing Handel’s masterpiece will be a wonderful way of
leading you towards the Advent and Christmas seasons.

The Dearne Big Band & Singers On Friday 17th September 7.30 pm
at Featherstone Technical College. Tickets £5.00 each, contact Bob
Burgess on 07905096039. All funds raised to help disabled and
disadvantaged children.

Theatre If anyone is interested in seeing Salt Mine Theatre

Company perform Secret Believers (what happens when you’re
forced to hide your faith) at St Thomas’ Church Sheffield at 7.30 pm
