The Well The Well Coffee Morning next Friday 24th September
10.00 am - 1.00 pm will be a police drop in session. Please pop in
for a coffee and a chat with our local Normanton policing team. Any
queries please have a word with Jenny.

Reading Rota The rota is being updated for reading in church if you
would like to do readings in services at church please speak to Dawn
or Don.
Parish Weekend 8th - 10th October, booking forms are very slow at
coming in. It is now only three weeks so let’s have your completed
forms now which are available on the welcome desk. Please put
your booking and deposit in the box provided, book now to avoid
disappointment. Paul Alexander and his wife Carol, principal of
Mattersey Bible college and renowned conference speaker will lead
our studies. The college is also intending to staff our kids groups.

Bible Study Are you interested in joining a Bible study group? From
Tuesday 14th September at 7.30 pm we’ll be meeting weekly to
study the Parables of Jesus. If you are interested please see either
Andy or Sandy Vanstan or Pat

details.

After-School Club We are thinking of starting up a new After-School

Club based in the Parish Rooms. It will probably be on a Thursday
from 4.00 pm until 5.00 pm and will be aimed at children in School
Years 5 and 6 (ages 9 to 11 years). No experience necessary, but if
you think you’ve got a particular skill and would like to get involved
please see Diane Brennan.

Rotas The service rotas for October are in the pigeon holes.
Invitation Michael Lawrence Addy and Shirley Tate invite the church
family to join in our special day when we exchange wedding vows
on Saturday October 23rd at 11.00 am. Coffee/tea and cake will be
served following the service. Will volunteers to serve tea/coffee
please see Chrissie Steels.

Yorkshire Philharmonic Choir The new season for the Yorkshire

Philharmonic Choir begins with a musical celebration based on
the ‘Last Night of the Proms’. This will include all the traditional
favourites as well as some popular orchestral and choral numbers.
It’s a new venue too - The Queen Elizabeth Hall at the Queen
Elizabeth Grammar School (QEGS) on Sunday evening 3rd October,
7.30 pm. Tickets are £12 (£10), ring 01924 364862, email
ypctickets@googlemail.com or have a word with Derek, Dave or
Stephanie. You can pick up the YPC season information leaflet at
the back of church, but here’s advanced notice of the first
performance of Handel’s Messiah in Wakefield for several years -
Sunday evening 21st November at 7.30 pm in Wakefield Cathedral,
featuring the YPC, soloists and
orchestra. Experiencing Handel’s masterpiece will be a wonderful
way of leading you towards the Advent and Christmas seasons.

Baptist Church Edith Dawson is leaving the Baptist church to be a

chaplain at Kings Mill Hospital, Mansfield her farewell gathering at
the Methodist Church between 4.15 and 5.45 pm followed by
worship at 6.00 pm. It is an open invitation for all.
