Re: Brendan Kearl

Reference for admission to faculty of Education

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to you to advocate for your consideration to accept Brendan Kearl into your F acuity of
Education. I am the learning leader of Physical Education at William Aberhart High School in Calgary
and am also the head coach of the senior football program. I am a very experienced teacher and believe
that I know the qualities and attributes that are needed to become and outstanding teacher. Brendan
most definitely will be an amazing Physical Education teacher!

Brendan is the kind of person that I would hire immediately to be a part of my department. He is an
extremely gifted athlete, and possesses the interpersonal skills and charisma that will allow him to
build the relationships with his future students that are so important in our profession. Brendan has
work ethic, drive, strong values, and a very engaging personality.

Brendan was a student at Aberhart from 2007 2010. In that time he played football, rugby, and track

and field for all three years. He was a nominee for our athlete of the year all three years, and won the
award in both grade 11 and grade 12. In my over 10 years at this school, Brendan still stands out as
one of the very best athletes to graduate. As his football coach, he was the best football player to go
through our program. His work ethic and coachability were exemplary! He was a leader and was
respected by his teammates as well as fellow students and faculty.

Brendan has been very busy gaining the life experiences needed to continue to develop his skills to
make him a successful teacher. I was grateful for his help in coaching our football team part time in
2011 and 2012. He is a natural coach and leader of students, and our players gravitated to him. I hope
to have the opportunity to have him join our teaching and coaching staff in the future.

I want to give you my strongest endorsement to have him be accepted into your faculty. I believe he
will be one of those extra special teachers who will have a tremendous influence on the lives of
countless students.

Sincerely,purs,
