To Whom It May Concern:

It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Ms. Stephanie Cortizzito. I have had
the joy of working with Ms. Cortizzito on and off for the 2016– 2017 and 2017-2018 school
years. She volunteered in my special day class for deaf and hard of hearing students at Peterson
Elementary.

Mrs. Cortizzito asked to observe and work with my students in my classroom for course
assignments that she had to complete for school. During the time that she came to my
classroom, I noted that she is a very caring, responsible, patient, and dependable person. She
arrived on time and waited until after the students went home to discuss with me about things
she saw in the classroom. She asked questions when she didn’t understand something or
wasn’t sure how to proceed when situations occurred in my classroom. She was open and
accepting of constructive feedback from myself. My students at the time were first and second
grade age and they enjoyed working with Ms. Cortizzito during small group instruction. They
also looked to her as a role model as she wore hearing aids like they did and communicated
using sign language.

I hope that Ms. Cortizzito continues with her education and pursues a teaching career. She
would be a wonderful asset to any school district.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Yvonne Carlon
