The growth of the Internet in the world provides many opportunities to many
people around the world in many different ways. In this 21th century it is very obvious
that internet provides many opportunities especially for students including for English
language learning. Since the growth of internet, students have started to access any kind
of information on the Internet and also use it for educational purposes. They can reach
any kind of information anytime and anywhere. Nowadays, the use of internet can help
students to get any information related to what their learning. For example in internet
there’s website for help them to increase their ability. However, we know that internet
contains “good” vs. “bad”, also “correct” vs. “incorrect” information. As the user, we
should be more selective for any information that we get from internet. Therefore, to use
resources correctly from the internet we need to have a set of skills related to information
literacy necessary in the 21th century learning.
 The websites that our group use to learning english is British Council
(http://learnenglish.britishcouncil.org/en). This is an institute that provides online
learning and according to the description on the front page of the website, “British
Council” or Learn English online is an online learning media which using our high-
quality resources to quickly improve our English. This website for adult learners, is
brought to us by the British Council, the world's English teaching experts.

Based on evaluation that our group use to evaluate this website, this website
content support the purpose of the site, British council is one of the biggest and the oldest
cultural relations Organization in the world. The British council is an executive non-
departmental public body. The British council was founded in 1934 and incorporated by
royal charter in 1940. Since 1940, British council had one mission but they continue to
make a positive contribution to the countries they work with. In doing so, they improve
the UK’s international standing, prosperity and security.

This website also promoting a wider knowledge of the United Kingdom and the
English language; encouraging cultural, scientific, technological and educational co-
operation with the United Kingdom; and changing people’s lives through access to
education, skills, qualifications, culture and society.

Surfing this website, from this website we can find a face-to-face or online
course offered by one of our language schools near us if we want to take a course to
improve our English. We can also find lessons and resources to improve our English
skillsand the uniqueness of this website is that they provide various ways to learn and
improve English skills such as with magazine content, video zone, vocabulary
exercises, Learn English podcast, etc. We can improve by practice English with its
extended listening and reading materials. At any time, use the grammar and
vocabulary sections can help and support our learning as well.
 Not only for improving our english skills, but this website also provides matter
relating to IELTS. IELTS is the world's most popular language test for higher education
and global migration. From this website, we can improve our score on the test by
watching the video they provide. Also there are some interview skills and tips to face
IELTS.

Then, as already explained, this website provides a variety of very complete

English language learning resources because this website offers a range of activities in
many several ways, and includes. The site also provides teaching English by online but
we should register and pay for that. However this website is a little more difficult to access
for beginner or people who want to try to get information because this website only
display the current news and other information on the first page. It is also confirmed that
this site for learners at level intermediate and advanced English learners.

Based on the assessment of the fifth parameter, namely objectivity, the British
Council website does not contain information bias. If we analyze weather the material
consistent with the learners’ knowledge of the topic or not, so the answer is yes. It’s
because this website has “Top Rated,” so that the learners could have a glimpse of the top
ten resources rated by users. So, every source has validity or consistency because those
who access and read on this website can give a rating to the material so that it also
confirms that this material is useful and true. The information presented by this website
is quite clear because it uses language or understanding that is practically familiar with
the community.

Whereas based on the sixth parameter, namely accuracy, the authors on this
website use accurate language and content in British Council, it is became more
convinced that the information provided was accurate because the information we had
found in this websites are more accurate and convincing when we read at British Council.
For comparison with other websites, we think British Council provides material that is
easier to understand than other web sites. In additionally they can teach English by online.
So it makes us very easier to learn English in everywhere.
 Not many websites provide complete and detailed learner needs. However,
although not enough to say perfect, but this website is better and more accurate compared
to other websites when we talk about learning English and improving the ability to speak
English. Because this website has many links to more sources of information, for example
when we want to learn grammar, there are many types of grammar available and we only
have to choose what type we want to learn, and likewise with skills, vocab and IELTS.
British Council or LearnEnglish provides learners with substantial tutorials on grammar
and vocabulary. According to our group we think this website is easy to use and have a
lot of information but this website only focus on grammar, vocabulary, skills like writing
skill and reading skill, and also IELTS. So, we think this website better if this website
contain writing skill or tutorial in writing to make the learner easier to understand english
skill and to improve their english skill.
