Lethbridge PROFESSIONAL SEMESTER THREE: Final Report , Teacher Mentor: Kara Balchwin 22% | intern Teacher: —_Brayden ill ‘Teacher Mentor Comments: Brayden has been teaching Grade 9 Social Studies and Social Studies 10 since the ‘beginning of the semester in September 2018. From the beginning, Brayden puts a lot of time and effort into lesson planning and ensuring he is teaching the curriculum standards, 'He is exceptional in adapting lessons to his style of teaching and after receiving constructive feedback. He is very conscious of formative assessment and uses it every [day to determine where the students are at and is adept at adapting his lessons when Inecessary to meet the learning style of students. His instructional strategies include a variety of short lectures, visual presentations, class handouts, videos, and individual and group work. Materials are always prepared well in advance, and each class built upon previous lessons, adding depth and interest to the respective units. He is flexible, organized, and is a real “team player”. Brayden works hard to help students achieve success in his class. He is always available to help students at lunch, during flex, and after school if requested by the student. The key area in which Brayden showed the most growth was in building relationships ‘with students.
