HOST:
Good morning everyone. Today we are welcoming 2 guest speakers, Presidential
Spokesperson, Mr Harry Roque, and the DENR secretary, Ms Cimatu.

*Entrance*

HOST:
The Philippines today is really a top hit to foreigners or tourists due to its wide and vast
exquisite floras and faunas, such as tropical forests, hills, mountains, volcanoes, and more.
Yet, due to the rapid growth of population, nature is being dominated by infrastructures that
can either aid in the boosting of economic growth or bring economic crisis to The Philippines.
So in this press conference, 2 guest speakers, Presidential Spokesman, Mr Harry Roque, and
DENR secretary, Ms Cimatu, will be answering and discussing on how the government is
implementing laws and policies to preserve and conserve nature. Thank You, and Mabuhay.

DENR SECRETARY:
Thank you, Ms Acosta. It’s such a pleasure to be in front of these interested people who
wants us to moot about the preservation of our nature or simply, environment.

SPOKESPERSON:
Before we begin to with the questions, I will be giving a diminutive statement about our
environment.
Our environment is where we rely most of our needs, thanks to trees, crops, and more, we
are able to live a healthy life. Nature is very proficuous, this is where we get our money,
where we are able to be financially stable, exempli gratia, with the aid of farms, mines,
logging, fishing, and more, so why should we destroy all these if we can benefit from it.

SECRETARY:
Let’s now begin with the questions. Now, any questions?

*Interviewer #1 raises hand*

*calls the interviewer*

INTERVIEWER #1:
Why is nature conservation important?
SECRETARY:
Nature conservation is important to ensure the safety of every individual such as animals,
plants, and humans on Earth. As a matter of fact, we can’t live in a polluted or hazardous
environment, we can’t breathe toxic air, we can’t eat poisoned food, and we can’t drink
filthy water, but if we start to protect our environment, we are able to ensure our health and
safety.

SPOKESPERSON
On my personal opinion, once we have done this act, we are able to eradicate poverty that
is a big problem to most countries.

INTERVIEWER NO.2
Do you really think that implementing such policies will help in preserving nature? Our
environment is currently being polluted by people, how come these policies aid in
protecting nature?

SPOKESPERSON:
More and more people are now correcting their mistakes with the help of these policies. It
brings someone’s conscience to test whether to follow the rule or not.

INTERVIEWER NO.3
What are the things that you do for people to follow the laws about nature?

SECRETARY:
Implement policies, of course and to raise awareness about the consequences that would
happen if they keep up with their irresponsibility and absence of integrity.

INTERVIEWER NO.4
Why is pollution happening to earth?

SECRETARY:
The lack of moral values, urges people to pollute our environment. We don’t excogitate the
possible consequences that may happen to our environment, we depend on plants and
animals to survive but perceive what we’re doing, we’re polluting their environment, look at
our water forms, it’s already polluted, full of plastics and trash. Who are we going to blame
now, the government? How ridiculous.

INTERVIEWER NO.5
Speaking of pollution or the destruction of our environment, whose fault is it that our
environment is being polluted, the people itself or due to natural causes?

SPOKESPERSON:
We can’t blame the natural causes for the destruction of our environment but some natural
causes are caused by the people itself, such as landslide and flood, if people just excogitate
the possible consequences, some of this won’t happen.

INTERVIEWER NO.2
Why is it essential for us to have a clean environment?
SPOKESPERSON:
As said a while ago, we can’t live in a hazardous environment; we need clean environment
to keep our selves safe. Animals need a clean environment too, we depend on species to
survive, and we can’t survive if we don’t have them, so start to protect, clean, and love our
environment.

INTERVEWER NO.4
Of all the statements that you have just said, is there still a chance to preserve nature?

SECRETARY:
There is… there was always a chance.

SPOKESPERSON:
Of course there is, there was always a chance but do we take it? No. we only take the
chance when we see that it’s already happening, then we blame, censure, and condemn,
avoiding the mistakes that we have done.

INTERVIEWER NO.2
Last question:
Are you using nature for your own good?

SECRETARY:
*gets upset*

INTERVIEWER NO.2
Laws, policies, these require fees if you once defy them, and these fees that the Filipinos are
paying, where does it go? To your pocket? To your own wallet? Is that why the absence of
honesty is very common in the Philippines? Are you using nature for your own good? For you
to have money? This is why the government is called ‘corrupt’; it’s because of people like
you!

SPOKESPERSON:
*WAVES AT THE HOST TO END THE SESSION*

HOST:
We will now be ending the session. Thank you everyone for participating in this presscon, I
hope you find this as important information. Thank you and mabuhay.

*everyone stands*
