Additive 7020 (Thickener for Liq. Soap)

Introduction:
Formulating economy viscous Liquid Soap based on LABSA (Acid Slurry) is
challenging task. Additive 7020 is ideal viscosity booster for the same.

Technical Data:
Appearance : Free Flowing Liquid
Colour : Light Blue Liquid
Active Content : 25 r 1%
Specific Gravity : 1.04
Solvent : Water

Dose:
5 to 7% on Total system depending up on the Viscosity requirement.

Example Formulation for 1 Liter with Procedure:

Step - I
Prepare 28% Caustic Flakes Solution in Water

Step – II
Take 37.5g of Acid Slurry + 500g Water  add 25g of Caustic Solution (28%) as
prepared in step 1 to bring pH to neutral (7 pH)

Step - III
In separate vessel take 380g of Water + 30g of Additive 7020. Material will turn
almost milky white

Step – IV
Add Step-II material to Step-III material slowly without generating much of foam.
Material will be hazy and pH will be lower than 7. Go on adding Caustic Solution
of Step-I drop-wise to achieve pH 7 again.

Step-V
Add 5g of Stabilizer. This is an optional addition. It stabilizes system and also
improves foaming + cleaning action.

Step-VI
Add suitable water based colourant and fragrance.

Additive 7020 is not suitable for SLES based Liquid Soap
