What is Perga turbo generator?
Perga turbo generator is a patented turbine, which can operate
with water or other fluids, approved by certification agency SGS
that converts potential energy in fluid systems to produce
renewable low cost electric energy. Power of each turbo
generator ranges between 0.2 kW- 350 kW (installation for greater
power can be achieved by placing them in parallel)

100 kW turbo generator 2

What is Perga turbo generator?
The turbo generator consists of a compact tube that contains a
turbine and an asynchronous three phase generator joined
rigidly. The turbine rotates utilising the pressure differential and
transforming the potential energy of fluids into mechanical energy.
The generator converts the mechanical energy into electrical power.

3
Robust design & construction
Perga turbo generator can work with backpressure up to 25
bars, while traditional turbines can only work with backpressure up
to 2 bars.

• → TURBINE
Contains one or more impellers, depending on flow and head,
working at 1.000, 1.500 or 3.000 rpm.
• → GENERATOR
Submersible asynchronous three phase generator, generating at
400, 690, 1.000 or 3.300 V. Insulation is designed to withstand
temperatures up to 90°C.
• → SHAFT
Made of stainless steel and capable of withstanding the forces
transmitted by the turbine and generator, in compliance with the
strictest regulatory requirements.
4
POTENTIAL APPLICATIONS
• In the entrance to water systems there are flow reducing valves that regulate flow
entering the system, dissipating energy. Perga turbo generator presents
minimal installation works and occupies a reduced space in the
installation.
• Examples;
▫ Large buildings, such as hospitals with 24/7 water usage in laundries,
CSSDs and kitchens
▫ Large water distribution systems, such as regional and district
systems; Thames Water, Scottish Water
• Within water systems, there are increases and reductions in water pressure due to the
need for pumping.
• Examples;
▫ Boiler systems
▫ Desalination plants
▫ Water Treatment Plants, sewage etc.
• The Perga Turbo Generator can operate with most liquids and gases; consequently it
can operate with hydrocarbons such as oil, diesel and petrol.

Potential location points
Water distribution networks-in parallel to regulatory valves

In water systems, there are pressure reducing valves that regulate the necessary pressure
downstream (typically 5 to 6 bars), dissipating energy.
Examples are the entrances to large buildings and treatment facilities as well as in
pressurised systems, such as boiler plants.

6
Potential location points
Perga turbo generator can extract excess pressure in water
distribution systems as long as the available pressure is 1.5 bars
minimum (15 metres head)
A 6 bar system can produce ~40 kWh
Each turbo generator is designed specifically for each location point,
given available pressure and flow
P (Maximum power) = g (acceleration) x Q (Flow) x pr (pressure) x η (Efficiency)

7
Business Plan
• Customer purchases the Perga and uses the
electricity produced within customer’s property,
reducing the electricity bill
▫ The Perga can be purchased on 100% credit provided
by the seller; 10 years to pay at 1.2% p.a. interest.

• The Perga can be supplied, installed and operated by

us in the customer’s facility free of charge. The
customer would then be supplied with electricity
produced at a lower cost than existing electricity
cost – PPA required guaranteeing minimum offtake
▫ So, no outlay for the customer, just lower power cost.
▫ Savings for customer from day 1 of operation.
8
What is different of this technology?
CAN WORK WITH HIGH OR LOW BACKPRESSURE
• Allows operation with free flow or with backpressure up to 25 bar, adjusting
to the needs of the location, and allowing installation in parallel to pressure
reducing valves in fluid systems.
IS COMPACT
• It comes from the factory assembled inside a compact tube, occupying a
minimal space in the installation and significantly reducing cost of
installation, civil works and environmental impact. Adaptable to the
existing infrastructure.
QUICK AND EASY ASSEMBLY
• Is assembled with standardized flanges in the extremes of diameters 50 mm
to 600 mm. An average installation can take a workday with two operators,
reducing installation costs.
IS SUBMERSIBLE
• Only submersible generator in the market, which allows its installation in
locations with a risk of flooding and guarantees an adequate refrigeration of
the generator and bearings.
9
What is different of this technology?
HIGH FLEXIBILITY
• Can be installed in any position: horizontal, vertical or tilted in new or
existing infrastructures, reducing costs of civil works. Can be used in other
different locations than initially contemplated, as long as their nominal
conditions are similar.
MINIMAL MAINTENANCE
• Does not contain multipliers or require oleo-hydraulic circuits, and the
generator and bearings are refrigerated by water, consequently
maintenance is significantly lower than traditional turbo generators. It is
controlled by a PLC and does not require permanent personnel.
SUITABLE FOR DRINKING WATER
• Does not contain oils or any other elements that affect the high food quality
of drinking water
PROVEN AND RELIABLE TECHNOLOGY
• Validated by Spanish public bodies: IDAE¹, F. A. Betancourt ² , and Canal
de Isabel II Gestión S.A.
¹ Energy Diversification & Saving Institute, depending on the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism
² Agustín de Betancourt Foundation, associated to the School of Civil Engineers of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain

generator converts the excess pressure of
the networks to electric energy, which can
be fed to elements of the water distribution
network, such as water monitoring systems
or flowmeters, providing an uninterrupted
data flow.
