MANAGERIAL FUNCTIONS
 PLANNING
It is concerned with pre-planning of activities to be done in future.
Planning is related to strategy formulation of personnel programmes
and changes in advance. Hiring, selection, training and development
are some HR functions which require planning.
 ORGANISING
It is the procedure of combining people and other resources work
together in order to achieve a goal. It establish relationship among
the employees so that they can fulfill organization goals.
 DIRECTING
It is concerned with telling employees to perform a specific task and
make sure that the work done as per the given direction. It is
responsible of HR manager to motivate, develop and communicate
the network and maintain discipline.
 COORDINATING
Coordination among the people is essential at all levels of
management achievement of organizational objectives is possible
only through coordination among groups and their activities.
 CONTROLLING
Controlling is the process of examining and verifying the plants. Some
of the means through which HRM functions can be controlled and
made more effective are auditing of training programmes, analysis of
labour turn over.

2.OPERATIONAL FUNCTIONS:
 EMPLOYEMENT
It deals with acquiring and hiring the potential candidates for the
attainment of objective of organization. Job analysis, power,
planning, requirement etc.,. are the activities involved in employment
function.
 HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT
It is the procedure of building and transforming the knowledge, skills,
creativity, etc, according to the existing and upcoming requirements
of job and organization. It consist of performance evolution, carrier
planning, training and development etc,.

 COMPENSATION
It is about motivating employees by providing them reasonable and
satisfactory renumeration so that they can do work more effectively.
Employee benefits, bonus, incentives and social security are
components of compensation package.
 EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
It is the procedure of interrogating people through interaction at the
work place. It helps people to work collectively in a team to gain
productivity. It deals with employee grievance, disciplinary action and
employee counseling to give them relief from stress and frustration.
 RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION
Recruitment is the process of inviting qualified applicants by way of
issuing notification in a newspapers, television media, online and on
social networking media so as to fill up job vacancies. After the
recruitment, employee selection process begins for identifying the
right person by using written test on relevant subjects, oral test,
group discussions, gamifications, final job interview and background
verifications for checking the genuinity and credentials of the
candidates for filling up of the job which is lying vacant in an
organization.
 TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
