APPLICATION FOR INTERNSHIP
My name is Alumona Chukwudi Chris from Nigeria. I am writing to indicate my interest in joining the
internship program for next year conference on digitalization for Africa agriculture.
I am very delighted with what your organization is doing in terms of agriculture in Africa nations.
Investing richly in agriculture in terms of ICT and digitalization of agriculture, empowering the youth
with your agrichack program, farmers are now being offered new ways to livelihood, which has also
seen high production rate and reduction in food wastages. I am very impress and would love to
contribute to this great work to humanity.
I am a graduate of civil and environmental engineering from Delta state university, Nigeria. Awarded
with a B.Eng. degree. I also hold a certificate on health safety and environment (1 2 3) which I have put
in great use in large crowded conferences and seminars, provide safety tips, helped locate and clear
emergency exit, helped control movement of persons and cars. I also have certificate on digital
marketing skills awarded by google digital skills for Africa, which I have also use in bringing events into
limelight, supporting the ICT units in online publication and advertisement. I have proficient skills in
Microsoft words, power point and excel. With my skills on graphic design I can help in designing events
brochure and flyers.
On May 15th 2018, I volunteered to help the organizing committee of the national higher education
forum on their two days’ workshop seminar. I assisted the ICT unit in setting up equipment and test
running it. My key role was monitoring, screening and sharing news relevant to the seminar to
participants, liaise with speakers and other stakeholders on areas they needed clarification, and
mapping out clear route for emergency exit. The seminar registered huge success and I was highly
recommended.
I was also invited by my then head of department on 24th of October 2018 to help the organizing
committee in organizing an inaugural lecture because of my highly motivated and result-oriented spirit
and zeal to get things done. I assisted the committee in management, collection and submission of
speakers and presenter’s material and ushering in dignitaries. I have worked with people of different
cultural and religion background and get work done on scheduled time even under pressure. I am the
right kind of person you would love to work with and very certain I am capable to undertake the
responsibilities stated out for the internship.
This program will have great impact in my life and career, as I plan on furthering my education on
agricultural engineering and will also help my family and community in farming business, which I believe
after the conference a lot of our faming practice and food wastage will be address with the knowledge I
will gain. It will also help me again more experience and meet people of different culture and
background.
Given a chance, I believe I could do justice to this job. I therefore humbly request you consider my
