This week's lesson refers to the following chapter from the prescribed textbook.
When you approach each activity, it will be indicat ed by the following icon. Each icon is associated with lessons

Read, study and understand this section of the textbook as indicated by the pagination.
Individual Case Project, found at the end of each chapter, that contributes directly and gain you
marks in your assessment. The hammer and nail icon symbolises the progressive building of foundational
blocks in completing a complete web site.
Attempt and complete the prescribed exercises. If required, the activity files can be downloaded
from the section on 'Learning Resources' of each respective Weekly Lessons.
Important point that you should take note. This usually refers to specific techniques in addition to
what you have will learn from the textbook.

Lesson Plan
1. Understanding Type Design Principles. pg.181-188. Imagine if you were to write a one-page
letter in water-soluble ink. Then soak this letter in water for five minutes. Pass it to a friend to read it. What would
the expected results be? The result would be similar to reading a web page with inappropriate or incorrectly
chosen typography. Web pages are meant to convey messages and meaningful content. The accomplish this,
you need to understand the technicalities and the creative aspect that takes behind each font selectio n and its
use.
7. Customizing Bulleted and Numbered Lists. pg.223-230. This section is really fun. You should
try it out.
Individual Case Project .pg.236. You must attempt this section. You need to include the outcome of your
tasks to Portfolio 1 of your assessment. Please note, there are minor modifications to the requirements that are
different to the one's indicated in the textbook. Please refer to the section under Assessment Details for further
details.
