1. Pupils solve “Word Maze” (Refer to appendix 1) game.


2. Teacher introduces a jazz chant
Pre Lesson
3. Teacher teaches how to chant and do actions.
4. Pupils chant and do actions with guidance.

1. Teacher presents the sentence pattern:


A: What’s his/her name?
Lesson Development B: His/Her name is _____. She’s/He’s got ________.
2. Teacher teaches vocabulary to pupils by illustrating.
3. Teacher revises new vocabulary to pupils using the sentence pattern.

Group Activity:
1. Pupils sit in groups of 5.
2. Teacher provides 6 *Face Templates to play the “Face Game (Refer to appendix 2)
3. Pupils make one big circle as a group and teacher explains how to play the game.
4. Pupils listen carefully to teacher’s instruction to illustrate how the faces look.
5. Teacher uses the sentence pattern and repeats vocabulary.
Post Lesson
6. Pupils provide feedback by illustrating correctly.
7. Pupils present their work and answer questions by using the sentence pattern and vocabulary.

Closure:
1. Pupils sing the song again and do actions.
2. Teacher asks pupils to say aloud the new vocabulary learnt of the day.

Lesson Development Partner Activity (Descriptive Drawing):


1. Pupils get a partner.
2. Teacher instructs each pair to choose one pupil as the “illustrator” and one as a “descriptor”.
3. Teacher gives the “descriptor” a picture facing down. Only the descriptors can peek at the picture.
4. Pupils as the “descriptors” describe the picture to the “illustrators” for them to draw.
5. Pupils complete the task in 2 minutes.
6. Teacher checks for correctly drawn pictures.

Group Activity (Chinese Whispers):


1. Teacher gets at least 5 pupils in a group and place them in lines.
2. Teacher gives each last pupil of the groups a small whiteboard
Post Lesson 3. Each pupil at the front of the line gets a word or phrase.
4. Pupil whispers the word or phrase to 2nd pupil in the line.
5. Pupils continue to whisper the word or phrase until the last pupil in the line.
6. The last pupils write the word or phrase on the small whiteboard given.
