Dear Enquirer,
my name is Zsolt Borsi, I am the programme coordinator of the Computer Science Master Course at
Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), Faculty of Informatics. ELTE is Hungary’s most prestigious university
with the richest traditions and the highest international rankings in the country. Last year you were
interested in our course within the framework of the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programme
(http://studyinhungary.hu/study-in-hungary/menu/stipendium-hungaricum-scholarship-programme).
The aim of this e-mail is to inform you that
You are still eligible for applying for the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship and its deadline is
approaching (application deadline: January 15). Please keep in mind, Stipendium Hungaricum
scholarship is awarded by Tempus Public Foundation, not by ELTE Faculty of Informatics.
Meanwhile we set up a Data Science specialization, we also launched an independent Master
course in the field of Computer Science for Autonomous Systems
(https://apply.stipendiumhungaricum.hu/courses/course/1637-msc-computer-science-
autonomous-systems) which is now offered within the Stipendium Hungaricum programme!
Moreover, in September 2019, we intend to start an Artificial Intelligence specialization.
From September 2019, we also offer a preparatory course, where students can study Bachelor's
subjects in Computer Science for 1 or 2 semesters in order to refresh their knowledge and get
familiarized with the standards at ELTE Faculty of Informatics, or achieve qualification required
for a Computer Science Master course.
Entry requirement: Holding a BSc degree in Computer Science or obtaining altogether at least 60 ECTS
credits in informatics and mathematical subjects related to computer science during a completed
Bachelor's program.
2. Computer Science in Autonomous Systems
Entry requirement: Holding a BSc degree in Computer Science or holding another BSc degree and
obtaining altogether at least 80 ECTS credits in informatics, computer science and mathematics.
IMPORTANT: Applicants for the Computer Science course can choose from the 4 specializations during
the admission procedure. Computer Science in Autonomous Systems is an independent course,
prospective students have to apply for that course separately. As the two courses are different from
each other, it is not possible to transfer from one to the other, after submitting the application. In case
you are interested in them, we advise you to apply for both courses.
The Computer Science Master programmes at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) provide students with a
broad education in Computer Science in combination with specialized work in programming languages,
cyber security, data science, web engineering, autonomous systems, multimedia design etc. The
Faculty's relationship with the business community, the joint research and development projects offer
up-to-date practical knowledge and experience to the students.
Our courses are not everybody' taste. Students who have no strong mathematical background or have
no solid knowledge in programming, will find our courses too difficult that might lead to failing subjects,
and eventually resulting in additional years (and costs) of study to finish the course. ELTE Faculty of
Informatics is involved in and shares international projects with the top universities of the European
Union, covered by EIT Digital. The master programmes of ELTE Faculty of Informatics were developed in
accordance with EIT Digital technical majors, within European excellence network of top technical
universities. Due to EIT partnership, master programmes of ELTE are fully transferable with and conform
to the high-quality standards of Computer Science programs of leading European universities.
Best regards,
Zsolt Borsi
