2018 brought one of China’s worst crackdowns on religion, from the astonishing persecution of
the Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang province to a series of raids

church-raids/) against “underground” Christian churches.
Some Chinese cities banned Christmas decorations and celebrations in an e ort to establish
the primacy of the communist government and stoke the res of nationalism at the height of a
trade war with the United States.

Christmas decorations reportedly have been banned in at least four cities this
year, including Langfang, about 55km (34 miles) south of Beijing, where shop
windows were stripped of Christmas stickers and streets were kept free of
Christmas banners and lights.
The seasonal humbug follows similar outbreaks of anti-Christmas rhetoric in

2014 and 2017. It appears not to be centrally organized, but rather a spreading
resistance to foreign festivals by local authorities seeking to align themselves
with a changing outlook in the Chinese government.
The capital itself seems free from such bans, though. As a South China Morning
Postreporter found, people were continuing to mark Christmas across the
sprawling metropolis in ways both commercial and religious, though for the most
part Christmas has largely continued to be a shopping festival in Beijing and
other cities.

re: the rot in the Church.
All I know is, Pope Saint Pius X wrote about modernism in Lamentabili Sane and Paschendi
Dominici Gregis (1907). He called modernism the synthesis of all heresies. Way back then the rot
was dangerously developing. For a useful article about this, see Church Militant April 25, 2015.

What we have going on in China right now is basically a replay of what happen in England
during the Reformation with one huge exception. Right now, in China, there are invalid
priests, invalid bishops, doctrinal changes, a "church" passing itself off as Catholic, bitter
persecution of faithful Catholics and its all controlled by the state. The huge exception is
that today all of this is approved of by the pope.
Henry the VIII has got to be laughing his butt off right now.

In the West anyone who is orthodox is already partly underground and despite the machinations
of the Marxists and all the compromises of liberals in the hierarchy to foster the misguided One
World Government globalist movement, we have to stand with and support the underground
Church in China. Pressures have to be put on our governments to sanction China for all of its
humanitarian abuses and religious persecutions.

throwing the undergrounds under the bus! If they can't share the plans with us, then how can we

seminaries in the U.S. some years ago and then return to the Chinese mainland.

You are correct. I have a friend who personally know many patriotic priests studied
in U.S. This friend is in California and she has frequent interaction with them and
helps them of their needs in daily lives in U.S. As far as I know they were allowed
and are allowed to study in U.S. I heard this from my Chinese friend.

It appears JP2 and Benedict XVI were involved. The Maryknolls and Jesuits
support it along with the USCCB. And it comes as no surprise that Walter
Kasper is a big supporter too. It also appears that a lot of U.S. $$$$ were
poured into this endeavor.
The article was posted January 24, 2011. We can now fast forward eight
years to see how this type of ecumenism has failed miserably. Read the
article carefully and you will see how patient and determined the
communists are to snuff out all opposition to their plans. The USCCB are
either total idiots or they are accomplices in the NWO. We already know
where Hor-Hey stands on this issue.
