Duration: 2 Hours Read all instructions carefully before you begin this examination. Instructions to Candidates This paper has 3 pages and FOUR (4) questions. ‘You are required to answer question ONE (1) and ANY other TWO (2) questions. Each Section carries 25 marks. ‘This examination is worth 50% of your Final mark. Question 1 You are accepted by a Primary School to complete the practicum during the semester. The cooperating teacher gives you a unit topic ‘Growing Lettuce’ in Agricultural Science to prepare and teach, 8) What is a unit plan? You decide to cultivate a crop of lettuce as a business to raise funds for all children to attend a field trip to the 200 ‘Write an account of the cultivation of lettuce under the following headings: i) Variety (1 mark) #i) Land Preparation (5 marks) iii) Planting Material and Planting (2 marks) iv) Fertilizer Application (3 marks) v) Three cultural Practices (6 marks) vi) Harvesting and Preparation for Market (3 marks) Question 3 ‘You are starting a horticulture project producing Ficus plants by air layering at school and plan to pot them in polythene bags for sale. You have to prepare a potting soil for use in the activity. i) What components will you put in the potting soil?
