RE: Placement – Events and PR Assistant 15h per week

While researching for a Placement to gain more experience in the field of management and
Public relations, your advertisement generated high interest to me. Currently, I am studying
abroad for one year at the Solent University in Events Management. My motivation for the
application is to be an active part of Solent University by working with a professional team or
independently to create successful events.
I hope to achieve a wider knowledge about working life especially in coordinating and
planning events. I am looking forward dealing with new challenges and therefore gaining
more problem-solving competence. Additionally, I am hoping to enhance the ability of time
management which will obviously be an important part of the work. Until now I have not
had a lot of contact with Promotion accordingly, I am really curious about this work field.

During my studies in Germany I gained a lot of organizing and planning experience. I

successfully passed all my exams and also worked alongside my studies. Therefore, time
management, self-discipline and long-term planning are one of my strength. During my
studies at the Solent University I optimized my teamwork skills due to several projects. The
biggest one is to create an event with 7 people where I gained especially skills of interactive
communication and critical, reflective thinking. I am very confident when it comes talking in
front of people, that is why I was immediately willing to get involved in pitching for an
external event inquiry. Additionally, I have a huge passion for learning new competences and
doing research on new topics. For this reason, I was extremely enthusiastic for the challenge
of studying one year in the UK. With this placement I am hoping to get the opportunity to
explore new skills and to apply my theoretical knowledge.

I have previously enjoyed the experience of working with the Solent Futures at the Graduate
and Placement Fair. I was supporting them with the organization and coordination of the
external job representatives. Since this Campus Job has been very positive, I am more than
motivated to join the placement. Getting the possibility to work for the Solent University
with the Management, Tourism and Events team would be a great way to use my knowledge
and engagement to benefit your business.
