THE GESTATION PROCESS

Life is the set of common phenomena that give the ability be born, grow, reproduce and
die. It is the fact to exist, to become an individual. Then all this begins with the pregnancy
that is a period of time understood that goes, from the fertilization of the ovum by the
spermatozoon, until the moment of the childbirth. Since the ovum is fertilized, there are
changes in the body of the woman, both physiological and metabolic, that are intended
to protect, nourish and provide everything necessary for the proper development of the
fetus.

The woman as a future mom should have some care during pregnancy, so she should
follow all the advice of her doctor and perform all the analyzes that are necessary. In
addition to following all the doctor's advice and taking the tests that are necessary, the
mother should not be under stress since the child is intimately connected to the mother
both physically and emotionally

The mother not only transmits what she ingests to her fetus, but also emotions and
feelings. Since both share endorphins (chemicals that produce the sense of well-being),
then the baby also experiences the same emotions. That is why it is so important for the
mother to feel calm and relaxed.

The human pregnancy lasts a total of 40 weeks, equivalent to 9 calendar months, during
this period of time there is the gestation process, which involves the growth and
development of the fetus in the mother's uterus, in which every month something
particular happen into the mother´s uterus. That is, a series of processes involving
several factors, that give the beginning of development of a new life

The gestation process begins with the first month of pregnancy, this month is special
since it is the moment in which the woman discovers that she is going to be a mother.
Although physically it is not noticeable, already begins to feel the first symptoms and to
have an idea of the special care that must follow during the gestation.

During week 3 and 4 of pregnancy, the ovum that has been fertilized it begins to be
divided and to increase the number of cells. It travels through the fallopian tube until it
reaches the uterus. Finally its adheres to the wall of the uterus, this is known as
implantation.

In the second month begins the embryonic development. The group of cells implanted
in the wall of the uterus become an embryo, this stage lasts about 5 weeks. In this period
the main internal organs begin to develop, such as: The heart, the digestive system, the
spine and the spinal cord.

In week 5, the heart begins to beat and the circulatory system develops. At week 7 the
heart is already fully developed. The fingers and toes, ears, eyes, eyelids and liver begin
to develop.

The third month is the stage where the physical changes in the woman begin to
appreciate and the vital organs of the fetus have already been developed. The fetus
grows to 7 cm and will weigh approximately 15-20 grams. The umbilical cord begins to
absorb the nutrients and oxygen the fetus needs.
At week 11 and 12 the bones begin to harden and begin to develop skin and nails. The
sexual organs begin to develop, but gender can not yet be known. And the first
spontaneous movements appear.

From the fourth month begins the second trimester, within weeks 13 and 14, the
muscles of the face are more developed and may have reflex movements, such as thumb
sucking. At week 16 The fetus measures about 12 cm and reaches 18 cm. And
something relevant this month is that the brain begins to control the movements

At this stage the eyes of the fetus are particularly big, although it keeps them closed this
are widely separated from each other, but the face is already well defined and it can see
the neck separating the head from the rest of the body

In the fifth month develops the senses, like taste, developing the taste buds. In addition,
the ear is fully developed and you can begin to hear sounds, such as your own heartbeat.
Millions of neurons are created in the brain. At the end of this month the baby can reach
up to 22-25 centimeters.

In the sixth month the future baby has already have eyebrows, hair and eyelashes.
Muscles also form. In addition, recognizes the sounds clearly, responds perfectly to the
stimuli, such as music. So doctors recommend that this month babies listen to relaxing
sounds at night so they can sleep and so getting used to the schedules of the day

The baby's skin begins to become opaque and can open and close the eyes, as well as
make gestures like sticking out tongue. The proportions of the body begin to equal in
relation to his head, Not like last month that the baby looked like an alien. The evolution
of the baby already measures of 27 cm to 32 cm approximately. At this moment, the
mother's belly must already be quite large.

In the seventh month the last trimester of pregnancy begins. Fetal development is
already advanced. In this period the lungs develop and the skeleton becomes more
consistent. In addition, the fat already begins to build up in baby´s body, thereby
controlling the temperature for the birth.

Pigmentation of the iris of the eye and skin is also produced. In this month the length of
the fetus goes from 33 cm to 38 cm approximately. Something nice about this month is
that the baby begins to become familiar with the voice of the mother.

In the penultimate month most organs of the body are already developed. The baby
begins to adopt a posture that is more comfortable. Olfactory neurons develop. The
mother starts to tire faster.

The last month that is the ninth the baby descends towards the pelvis and the head
begins to engage in it. The stomach and intestine are working. The baby is able to
breathe and perform the movements, that is to say that the the baby is fully developed
and can survive outside the body of his mother.

The end of this process concludes with the birth of the baby then the birth will come when
frequent contractions appear and the cervix will begin to dilate so that the baby can leave

The gestation process is a stage of changes in which it involves the mother and the baby,
the pregnancy is to see how that fertilized ovum goes through a series of processes to
become a human being.
In my opinion pregnancy is something beautiful and has responsibility, it is a relationship
between mother and baby, which for 9 months a new life is developed, for that reason is
important for the mother to know that she should take care of her health, her feeding,
everything that encompasses her lifestyle should be adapted to have a good pregnancy
without many complications and with a healthy baby
