TV News Should Show Harsh Criminals’ Face Better Than Showing

Low Charge Criminals’ Face

In Thailand, there is a law of human rights which means everyone have

their basic rights or freedom from birth until death. This right can never be
taken away, but in some situation it can be restricted like when you break the
law. One of these rights is the rights of showing face, therefore when any
criminal did wrong thing, the News are able to show the criminals’ face on any
social media, but the point is most of TV News choose to show low charge
criminals’ faces rather than showing harsh criminals’ face and I strongly
disagree with this.​ ​However, I agree that TV News should show harsh
criminals’ faces better than showing low charge criminals’ faces because
showing harsh criminals’ face give some benefits to the society and the low
charge criminals should get a chance to improve themselves.​ 5/5
One of the advantages of showing harsh criminals’ faces is that it gives
benefits to the society. In present, harsh criminals’ faces in TV news were
covered in many formats such as; wearing helmet, using big cloth, using
technical sensor, etc. LaywerJames.LK (n.d.) reports that most of TV News
companies give reasons of covering harsh criminals’ face are that they are
afraid that the criminals might be denounced or the criminals might get
attacked from big group of people. While they said that low charge criminals’
face should be shown for people to remember and be aware. I agree with this
statement but from overall, I think that if they want to show either harsh
criminals’ faces or low charge criminals’ faces they should choose to show
harsh criminals’ faces because they are more dangerous. I believe that
showing harsh criminals’ face to the society will make people know and
remember them. This might be helpful if the criminal escape the jail and come
back to live in the society which this happens often. It also makes people in
our country be aware of doing bad thing because people already know that if
they did bad thing, their face will be appeared on lots of public media. Then
they and all of their family will be dishonorable. ​8/10
On the other hand, I think that TV news shouldn’t show low charge
criminals’ faces because they better give them a chance to improve
themselves, but on the word low charge criminals, I doesn’t mean to the
criminals that do just a little mistake many times already, that would be called
a harsh criminal. In my view, I’m sure that 50% of low charge criminal prefers
to reform oneself after they got caught. When TV news show their face to the
public media, that cause many bad effects to their long-term life. Dr.
Mathurada Suwanpho (n.d.), director of Department of Mental Health, Child
and Adolescent Rajanagarindra, concludes that when people are condemn,
they were led to psychopathy and that might cause to death. She said that
people can have psychotherapy and I agree with that because the department
of mental health have already discovered that psychopathy can help people.
Moreover, this also affect the criminal on their jobs and how they can get into
the society in the future.​ 9/10
In conclusion, I think that chances should be given to everyone includes
low charge criminals because it is not late for anyone to improve themselves.
But, it shouldn’t be given to people that did harsh thing like harsh criminals
because it’s fine for them to be denounced or getting attacked, so I strongly
agree that harsh criminals’ faces should be shown in the society better than
low charge criminals’ faces. ​5/5
