CREATE
Back
Using 6.50mm (US 10½), (UK 3) Needles,
cast on 57 (63-65-71) sts.
Knit 5 rows garter st (1st row is WS).
Work in stocking st (beg with a knit row),
dec one st at each end of 3rd row, then
in every foll 6th row until 43 (47-49-53)
sts rem.
Work 3 (3-5-1) row/s. Tie a coloured
thread at each end of last row to mark
sleeve placement.
Cont dec one st at each end of 1st (3rd-
1st-3rd) row, then in every foll 4th row
until 19 (21-21-25) sts rem.
Work 1 row. Leave rem sts on a stitch
holder.
Left Front
Using 6.50mm (US 10½), (UK 3) Needles,
cast on 20 (22-24-26) sts.
Note - The lower band is worked
afterwards.
1st row - Knit.
2nd row - Cast on 2 sts, purl to end.
3rd row - K2tog, knit to end.
Cont dec one st at side edge in foll 6th row,
at the same time cast on 2 sts at front
edge in next row, then in every foll alt row
2 (1-1-0) time/s, then inc one st at front
edge in next row, then in every foll alt row
0 (2-2-4) times = 27 (29-31-33) sts.
Work 1 row, thus completing front edge
shaping.
Cont dec one st at side edge only in foll 5th
(3rd-3rd-1st) row, then in every foll 6th
row until 22 (23-25-26) sts rem.
Work 3 (3-5-1) row/s. Tie a coloured
thread at end of last row to mark sleeve
placement.
Cont dec one st at side edge in 1st (3rd-
1st-3rd) row, then in every foll 4th row

Shape neck - Next row (WS) - Cast/bind
off 4 (4-4-5) sts, purl to end = 9 (9-10-

Dec one st at neck edge in next row, then
in every foll alt row 3 (3-4-4) times, at
the same time dec one st at side edge in
next row, then in every foll 4th row twice
= 2 sts.
Next row - P2, turn, K2tog. Fasten off.

Using 6.50mm (US 10½), (UK 3) Needles,
cast on 20 (22-24-26) sts.
Note - The lower band is worked

3rd row - Cast on 2 sts, knit to last 2 sts,
K2tog.
Cont dec one st at side edge in foll 6th row,
at the same time cast on 2 sts at front

then inc one st at front edge in every foll
alt row 1 (3-3-5) time/s = 27 (29-31-33)
sts.
Work 1 row, thus completing front edge

Sleeve (make 2)
Using 6.50mm (US 10½), (UK 3) Needles,
cast on 33 (33-35-37) sts.
Knit 5 rows garter st (1st row is WS).
Work in stocking st (beg with a knit row),
dec one st at each end of next row, then
in every foll 4th row until 17 (11-13-15)
sts rem, then in every foll alt row until 5
sts rem.
Work 1 row. Leave rem sts on a stitch
holder.
Left Front Band
With RS facing and using 6.50mm (US
10½), (UK 3) Needles, knit up 48 (56-58-
60) sts evenly along left front edge (beg
at neck edge) to beg of curve shaping, knit
up 10 (12-12-14) sts evenly around curve
to cast on sts, then knit up 20 (22-24-26)
sts evenly along cast on sts = 78 (90-94-
100) sts.
Knit 5 rows garter st. Cast/bind off knitways.
Right Front Band
Place 3 pins to Left Front Band, placing 1st
pin approx 5 (5-6-6) cms/2 (2-2½-2½)
ins down from neck edge, then 2nd and
3rd pins the same distance apart.
Work to correspond with Left Front Band
(beg at cast on edge) and working a
buttonhole in 3rd row of garter st at each
pin placement as folls - yfwd, K2tog = 3
buttonholes.
Neckband
Using yarn needle and mattress st seam,
join side edges of sleeves to back and
fronts, placing cast on edge of sleeves level
with coloured threads on back and fronts.
With RS facing and using 6.50mm (US
10½), (UK 3) Needles, knit up 4 sts evenly
along side edge of right front band, 12 sts
evenly along right front neck, knit across
sts from right sleeve stitch holder, back
stitch holder and left sleeve stitch, knit up
12 sts evenly along left front neck, then 4
sts evenly along side edge of left front band
= 61 (63-63-67) sts.
Knit 2 rows garter st.
3rd row - Knit to last 4 sts, yfwd, K2tog, K2.
Knit 2 rows garter st.
Cast/bind off knitways.
FINISHING
DO NOT PRESS. Using yarn needle, darn
in ends.
Using yarn needle and mattress st seam,
join side edges of back and fronts. Sew on
buttons to correspond with buttonholes.
