Glossary:
Layers- one thickness, coating of one or more substances lying upon or under one or more
substances.
Crust- topmost layer of the earth covered with rocks and soil, which consist of various
minerals.
Mantle- is the thickest layer of the earth made mostly of very hot rocks consisting silica,
oxygen, magnesium, iron and aluminum.
Outer Core- behaves like liquid, consist of molten iron and nickel.
Atmosphere- a blanket of air surrounding Earth that contains several gases such as nitrogen,
oxygen, argon, carbon dioxide and other gases in smaller
