PROPORTIONAL DOSING OF ADDITIVES
INTO A WATER SYSTEM
DOSING TECHNOLOGIES
Parameters to take into account
Water system :
• Max / min water flow
? Water + Additive :
• Dosage accuracy (at all flows)
• Max / min water pressure • Dosage homogeneity
• Pressure & flow variations • Pressure variations generated
• Water filtration required by the dosing system
• Water temperature
Dosing system :
• Need for energy (electric, pneumatic)
Additive Type : • Max-min water pressure & flow
• Liquid or Powder • Dosing range (max-min) & adjustment
• Dosing % required • Self priming
• Components • Max working frequency
• pH • Max viscosity accepted
• Viscosity at 20°C • Materials
• Solubility • Easy maintenance & Installation
• Offgasing risks • Price

WORKING FREQUENCY
Dosing System Injection Frequency
(Frequency tested at same injection rate and same water flow)
0.5 Hertz
3 Hertz
Bar
Electro-mechanic pump :
When the injection rate is high compared to the water flow an
over pressure can be generated into the water system (0 to 8 bars):
. Modifying water flow
. Leading to under dosing as such situation requires a pressure releasing
valve (adjusted at 8 bar) going back to the main chemical tank .
. Changing droplets size and angle on low pressure spraying systems.
CHEMICAL & MECHANICAL RESISTANCE

offgasing chemicals)
WORKING UNDER « DRY » CONDITIONS
Deterioration risk if working under « dry conditions »
