Oil & Gas - From offshore platforms to midstream pipelines, the demands of the oil and gas industry
require first-class protection against corrosion and abrasion. Our proprietary FluoroKote#1® coating is a
proven solution to protect fasteners against corrosion in the toughest offshore environments. For dry/solid
film lubricant needs, Xylan®, fluoropolymer and molybdenum disulfide are available. We also offer a range
of industrial coatings for increased corrosion resistance, including epoxy, phenolic and inorganic zinc.
Petrochemical - Our fastener coatings, especially FluoroKote#1®, are the industry choice for protecting
against corrosion. PVDF/Kynar®, ECTFE/Halar® and PPS/Ryton® are also popular for outstanding chemical
resistance of items subjected to harsh environments.
Water & Wastewater - The common conditions of water treatment facilities are punishing to nearly any
kind of steel. Wastewater treatment companies know they can turn to Metal Coatings Corp. for corrosion
resistant coatings to protect their equipment.
Food Processing - The food processing industry requires the best non-stick coatings around for food prepa-
ration equipment. Metal Coatings Corp. provides PTFE and FEP for nonstick applications.
Fluoropolymer Coatings - Fluoropolymer coatings are blends of high perfor-
mance resins and fluoropolymer lubricants. This coating is a superior dry film
lubricant that produces a smooth, hard, slick surface and provides excellent corro-
sion and chemical resistance.
Xylan® Coatings - Xylan® coatings are a family of fluoropolymer coatings designed
for use on various types of OEM components and fasteners. Most Xylan® coatings
contain PTFE or other types of lubricants and are applied in thin films. Xylan®
coatings offer corrosion and chemical resistance as well as lubricating properties.
Molybdenum Disulfide Coatings - Moly coatings lubricate sacrificially by trans-
ferring lubricant between two mating surfaces, which helps to reduce wear and
coefficient of friction. This coating provides effective lubrication in a wide range of
loads, in many cases exceeding 250,000 psi.
Phosphate Coatings - Phosphate coating is a crystalline conversion coating that
is formed on a ferrous metal substrate. This coating is employed for the purpose
of pretreatment prior to painting, increasing corrosion protection, and improv-
ing friction properties of sliding components. Phosphate coatings are applied
to threaded parts and top coated with oil to add anti-galling and rust inhibiting
characteristics.
Thermal Cure Epoxy Coatings - Thermal cure epoxy coatings offer excellent
barrier protection from alkali and caustic solutions and other harsh chemicals and
solvents. This corrosion resistant coating also offers superior abrasion resistance.
Phenolic Coatings - Phenolic coatings offer consistent high quality protection
for a wide range of applications including immersion service for most acids, sol-
vents, and salts. Phenolic coatings have an excellent resistance to sulfuric acid
(92-98% ) at temperatures up to 120 F.
Ceramic Epoxy Coatings - Ceramic Epoxy coating is a unique abrasion resistant
coating that protects by binding ceramic particles to resin systems, thus creating
an encapsulating ceramic shell.
Air-Dry Epoxy Coatings - Air dry epoxy coatings are thick film, high gloss, cor-
rosion resistant coatings that are recommended for use where a high performance,
chemical resistant coating is desired. It also may be used as a two or three coat
system for use in industrial environments including offshore oil and gas.
Inorganic Zinc Coatings - Inorganic zinc coating,
when applied to blasted steel, provides excellent corro-
sion protection, weathering protection, and very good
resistance to salt water and solvents.
Polyurethane Coatings - Polyurethane coatings
provide a thin film, high gloss finish with excep-
tional UV protection characteristics. This coat-
ing is used in virtually all industrial markets to
provide a smooth durable finish that has superior re-
sistance to corrosion, abrasion and chemical exposure.
PPS/Ryton® Coatings - PPS(polyphenylene sul-
fide) is a resin bonded coating with outstanding
chemical resistance. This coating is virtually un-
affected by any solvent to 400 F. PPS also has ex-
cellent abrasion and wear resistance. This coating is
used extensively in the chemical processing industry.
PTFE Coatings - PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene)
nonstick coatings are two-coat (primer/topcoat) sys-
tems. These products have the highest operating tem-
perature of any fluoropolymer and have an extremely
low coefficient of friction, fair abrasion resistance and
good chemical resistance.
FEP Coatings - FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene)
nonstick coatings melt and flow during baking to
provide smooth non-porous films with excellent abra-
sion resistance. Because the coating is non-porous its
chemical resistance is superb.
ECTFE /Halar® Coatings - As part of the fluoropoly-
mer family, ECTFE(ethylene chlorotrifluoroethylene)
coatings have a unique combination of properties in-
cluding excellent chemical resistance, good electrical
properties, a broad-use temperature range, outstand-
ing abrasion resistance, and impact strength.
PVDF / Kynar® Coatings - PVDF (polyvinylidene
fluoride) coating is a chemical resistant thick film bar-
rier coating primarily used on chemical processing
equipment. This coating is unaffected by most chemi-
cals and solvents and has excellent wear and abrasion
resistance.
Dry Film Lubricants/Solid Film Lubricants
Dry film lubricants are an attractive alternative to fluid lubricants for minimiz-
ing friction and preventing seizing and galling of industrial components. Metal
Coatings Corp. offers the following professionally applied lubricating coatings.
Phenolic PVDF/Kynar®ECTFE/Halar®
PPS/Ryton® Thermal Cure Epoxy
Non-Stick Coatings
The superior properties of non-stick fluoropolymer coatings make them popular
for an endless variety of industrial uses, from mold release applications to food
grade non stick applications and beyond. Metal Coatings Corp. specializes in
the use of two types of non-stick materials.
