 SYNOPSIS
Energy crisis is one of the major concerns in today’s world. Due to fast
depleting resources of petrol, diesel and natural gases. In combination with this
environmental decay is an additional factor which is contributing to the depletion of
resources which is an alarming notification. Our project is fabrication of the E-Bike with
CVT (continuously variable transmission)gear box. Nowadays lot of E-Bike are available in
the market, but it’s initial torque is not sufficient. So in our project we additionally added
continuously variable transmission in our E-bike. It is increase the top speed and the
travelling distance.
 WORKING PRINCIPLE

Our project works on the principle of the electro motive force of an DC motor , which
receives the electrical energy stored in the battery. In our E-Bike batteries and electric motor
fixed on the chassis of the bike. The electric power gets from the battery to motor through the
control units. The motor output shaft is connected to the input of the CVT gear box. CVT
gear box output shaft directly connected to the rear wheel. It is a belt drive transmission and it
is an automatic transmission that can change seamlessly.
A belt drive design offers approximately 88%, while lower than the manual
transmission. In CVT, we need a lot of initial torque for initial movement of the bike. So
CVT gear box is used for getting required initial torque and also the speed.
