is a lot busier during Christmas. During, the Christmas holidays, about 336 planes take
off every day from the airport.
1. During the Christms holidays, the airport opens 12 hours during each day, how
many planes take off fromthis airport in each hour ?
Answer : Normal days have 280 planes takes off Christmas have 336 planes take off/ day.
In Christmas holidays have open hours: 12 hours

12 hours = 336 planes
1 hours = 336 planes

So, there are 28 planes take off from this airport each hour during the
Christmas holidays.
2. In average, each planes take 240 passengers and 12 tons cargo. How many
passengers depart from the airport every hour during the Christmas holidays?
Answer : 1 plane = 240 passegers and 12 tons of car go
28 planes = ? passengers and ? tons of car go
1 hours = (28 x 240 passenger) and ( 28 x 12 tons of car go)
= 6720 passenger and 336 of car go.
So, there are 6720 passenger and 336 of car go depart from the airport every
hour during the Christmas holidays.
3. Compared with a nomal day, how many more passenger depart from the airport
in a day during the Christmas holidays?
Answer : Christmas holidays have 336 planes and normal days have 280 planes
and 240 passeger in average.

Solution : (Christmas holidays - Normal days) x passenger
( 336 – 280) x 240 = 56 x 240
1. Before a party, Ashley bought a tray of 24 water bottle; each bottle has a capacity
of 12 oz. There are 30 guests. If each guest drinks 1 cup of water, is there are
enough water for all the guests?
Answer : 1 cup of water = 8 fluid ounce(fl oz)
: 24 bottle x 12 oz = 288 oz of water. So, Ashley bought 288 oz of water.

gallon 3 quarts. Each soda water bottle contains 6 quarts. The cans of cocktail
fruit are 2 pints each. How much (measured in gallons) of fruit punch did Josh
made?
NB : 2 pints = 1 quart
4 quarts = 1 gallon
4. There are two pitchers of lemonade in fridge. There are 1.5 gallon of lemonade in
one pitchers and 9 quarts of lemonade in the other pitcher. How many cups of
lemonade of language are there in the fridge ?
Answer : 1,5 gallon = 6 quarts = 12 pints = 24 cups
(1,5 x 4 quarts = 6 quarts)
(6 quarts x 2 pints = 12 pints)
(12 pints x 2 cups = 24 cups)
9 quarts x 2 pints = 18 pints = 36 cups
18 pints x 2 cups = 36 cups
The total cup of lemonade is 24 + 36 = 60 cups
So, There are 60 cups of lemonade in the fridge.
