Uncovering the Python

No Longer His Prey – The Power of Praise

Psalm 127:2 – “It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of
sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep”

What keeps you up at night?

a. Gideon
a. He was hidden in the winepress, threshing wheat, in an attempt to
protect what little harvest his family managed to keep from the enemy.
b. God sent an angel to talk to Gideon and remind him that he was a
mighty man of valor.

It is a good thing God sees more in us than we see in ourselves. We need to keep the
python’s limiting lies far from our minds if we want to see ourselves the way God
does.

As with Gideon, God already has the victory won for us. All Gideon had to do was walk
out and express that victory. Praise is an expression of victory.

Judges 7:13-14

a. We should not be the ones tossing and turning all night. We should not be the
ones filled with fear and anxiety.

Judges 7:20
a. This caused so much fear and confusion in the enemy’s camp that they turned
on each other, killing one another as they fled.

Praise Creates Nightmares for the Enemy

a. Where do you get the power to prevail in tough times?

b. How do you have peace in a storm?
c. How do you walk through the valley of the shadow of death?

Psalm 76:1 – In Judah God is known; His name is great in Israel.

a. Judah means praise, so it is in praise that he is known. When you praise Him,
you make Him known to others.
b. A Look at the “valley” from a different perspective
a. Goliath wanted to occupy the valley, but he did not have ownership of
it. The valley belonged to Judah, it belonged to praise. Your valley
doesn’t belong to fear, stress intimidation or worry, that valley belongs
to praise.
