According to the article, Tweens identified as children spend about 6 hours on average
consuming media (Wallace). Kids spend way too much time devoting their attention to social
media then being productive. It just shows you that these kids live in this massive 24/7 digital
media technology world and it’s snapping every aspect of their life. They spend far much time
with media technology than any other thing in their life. This is the dominant in ternediary in
their life (Wallace). Teens rather spend all the time on media other than do other things in their
life. Some 60% say they text and more than 75% say they listen to music while working on
school work at home. Teens feel that them being on their phones help them get they homework

Social media has become second-nature but the impact is this having on our brain-East. Social
media has become the most impact on humans. According to Dumontneil whenever you learn
something new or you experience something. It’s encoded in your brain, and its enclosed by
subtle changes in the strength of connections between neurons (Wallace). When people learn
new things they brain becomes connected with that material. Why is it hard for teens to stay off

messages and other notifications(Wallace). Teens are so addicted to their phone that they can’t
stay off of it. If your teens would prefer gaming indoors alone as opposed to going out to the
movies, meeting friends for burgers or any of the other ways that teens build(Wallace). Having a
child that rather sit in the house and not go outdoors and be active that’s not good. The older the

According to the police, the accused boy said Gabbie texted him to say she was having a bad day
and attempted to hang herself and had marks on her neck(Lynch). She was being bullied so much

Those say they were cyberbullied were most likely to say they considered suicide(Landau). Kids
who have considered suicide have been a victim of being bullied. According to Patchin in our
research, about 82% of the time, the target know who the bully is and it’s usually somebody
from the social circle(Landau). When someone is getting bullied most of the time someone you
know knows the person who is doing and don’t want to tell an adult. The impact cyberbullying

minutes after death four people posted “you finally did it”(Hassan). Four teens began to taunt
Brandy after she passes. According to swearer people are most likely to write horrible things
when they think they’re being anonymous(Hassan). Teens feel just because they don’t leave a
name nobody will find out they are the ones who are being a bully. Social media should be taken
away due to cyberbullying, too many distractions and not pay attention in school.
Most people would disagree because some people feel social media is a positive outlook
such as getting in contact with friends they haven’t seen in years and family who they haven’t
heard from in a while and also to see what’s trending and find opportunities that will better the
future. Also look at the news so they can know what is going on within the environment and for
police to find evidence just in case somebody commits a crime but the decision to send a
The amount of social media that is used needs to be limited due to the consequences it
causes teens to not pay attention in school. It causes too many distractions and also leads to
cyberbullying. Social media has advanced over the years. Social media has taken over teens lives
to the point teens would rather sit indoors and be on social media other than to be productive.
Society should be more concerned because teens are not as active as they should be. This
generation rather socializes with friends through social media instead meeting up and doing
outdoors activities. Teens are also losing one on one skills because the would rather meet “new”
people through social media and video call them instead of meeting up and going to the movies,
